Jacqueline Joanne Wyant passed away on January 10, 2026 in Scottsdale, AZ.
Jacqueline was born on May 20, 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa to Harold Derby and Florine Buchanan Derby and attended Everett, West Junior and Central High School in Sioux City, Iowa, graduating in 1954. She was married to Paul Maurer in 1956 and had two children, a son Kip A. Maurer and a daughter Karley L. Maurer. They lived in Winner, SD for 20 years and divorced in 1977. She then worked for Ranchers National Bank in Winner, SD. She moved back to Sioux City, Iowa in 1985 where she attended Stewart’s School of Hairstyling but after graduation went back into the banking service at First Inter-state Bank of Sioux City Iowa for several years In 1989 she married Gary Wyant and later moved to Littleton, CO where she worked for Crawford Health and Rehabilitation for a couple years. She and Gary then retired and moved to Fountain Hills, AZ where they both enjoyed traveling in their RV and enjoying many trips on their motorcycle around Canada and the United States. They settled in Arizona in their home for six months and in S. D. in their motorhome for the other six months.
She is survived by husband Gary, children, Kip and wife (Lynn) Maurer of Griswold, IA and daughter Karley Maurer Boltz and husband (Joe Boltz of Phoenix AZ, two stepdaughters, Pamela Sonzogni (Rich) and family of Florida and Cindy Pierson (David) and family of CA, stepson, Dan Wyant of CO and two brothers, Ray and wife Bea Derby of Winchester VA and John Derby of Sioux City, Iowa. She has 14 grandchildren: Riley, Ryan, Alicia, Brandon, Sean, Molly, Jason, Halli, Bridget, Emily, Jason Pierson, Matthew Sonzogni and Danica Jones. She has 14 great-grand-children and many very much-loved nieces and nephews.
Jackie enjoyed friends, camping, motorcycle rides and Life. She loved her grandchildren and granddogs also. She loved being Namma and will always be that, forever and ever! She also loved her best friend and almost sister, Marilyn Dermit.
I will miss you all very much but hopefully I will be making room for another little one to enter this world which makes me very happy. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters-in-law and a grandson, Garrett Wyant.
Jackie will be cremated and a small service with family and friends will be at a later date in Sioux City.
