James F. Bayne, 91 years old, of Rio Verde passed away on Oct. 5, 2013. He was born on July 1, 1922 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Julia (Keegan) and James Bayne.
He proudly served his country in WWII in the Southwest Pacific Theatre, New Guinea, and South Philippines (Liberation) for 27 months.
Before retiring he was a retail manager in New Jersey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Elizabeth; three sisters, Julia Chamberlain, Anne Jones and Doris Bayne; three children, Edwin W. Bayne, Lawrence Bayne and his wife, Ann (McDermott), and Johanne (Bayne) Muller and her husband Henry. He was also blessed with eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Jim’s life was held on Oct. 9 at St. Dominic’s Chapel, Rio Verde, followed by burial with full military honors at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
