James Scott LaGreca, 64, of Fountain Hills, passed away at home under hospice care on June 15, 2013.
Born in San Diego, Calif., Scott went on to college and graduated with his Master’s degree from ASU. He served in the Chicago Fire Department for 26 years.
He and his family moved to Fountain Hills where he served in the Rural/Metro Fire Department for 17 years, becoming fire chief of Fountain Hills. He has been active in the VFW and Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife, Christine; sons Sean (wife Eli) of Chicago, Brian of Phoenix and Jason (wife Charlotte) of Mayer, Ariz.; parents James and Barbara of Wonder Lake, Ill.; sister, Susan LaGreca of Wonder Lake, Ill.; brothers, Anthony of Pontiac, Ill. and David of Georgetown, Texas. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, C.J., and is survived by four other grandchildren, Jaden, Jessica, Madison and James.
A memorial will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, El Lago and Fountain Hills boulevards, at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6.
