They moved to Arizona in 1996 where Rollie passed away in 2018. Lorenz’s favorite pastimes were traveling and cruising, especially to Alaska. They were great lovers of horses, dogs, and cats. She volunteered at Fearless Kitty Rescue in Fountain Hills. A lover of the Native American peoples, Jean and Rollie gave several works of public art in the form of statues which can be seen around Fountain Hills. In honor of her daughter who wanted to become a veterinarian, the Lorenzes provided funding to the Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and scholarships for students preparing to become veterinarians. Jean and Rollie were members of The Fountains, A United Methodist Church, in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Their cremains are buried in Williamston, Michigan, alongside their son, David Alan Lorenz (2005), and daughter, Susan Lynn Lorenz (1983), who predeceased them.
