Jewish Heritage & Food Festival draws crowd in Fountain Hills

More than 1,500 community members and visitors gathered over a late January weekend for the first-ever Fountain Hills Jewish Heritage & Food Festival.

The festival is a “vibrant” celebration of culture, cuisine and community spirit produced by Rabbi Mendy Lipskier and Rebbetzin Tzipi Lipskier of Chabad of Fountain Hills, according to a press release. The festival featured kosher food, music, hands-on cultural booths, and a family-friendly atmosphere welcoming attendees of all backgrounds.

The festival officially opened with welcoming remarks from Betsy LaVoie of the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce, who greeted attendees and introduced Rabbi Mendy Lipskier. Then Mayor Gerry Friedel welcomed the crowd on behalf of the town, followed by greetings from John Kavanagh, who addressed attendees and shared his enthusiasm for the event and its impact on the broader community. Councilwoman Hannah Larrabee greeted the crowd as well.
