Jill Mooney Saettele

Jill Patrice Mooney Saettele, 64, of Fountain Hills, Arizona, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 surrounded by her four children, sister, and nephew. Jill was born on February 25, 1961 in Stamford, Connecticut to Rod and Joan Mooney. She attended the University of Arizona and adored working at the Home Depot Garden Center and the Fountain Hills Recovery Center. She was known for her love of gardening, triathlons, and the outdoors. One of her greatest accomplishments was hiking Mount Kilimanjaro in 2023. Jill was preceded in death by her father, Rod Mooney, her sister, Karen Mooney Grassel, and brother, Peter Mooney. She is survived by her children, Laura Saettele (Ryan), Karen Lieb (Brian), Sarah Vandiver (Matt), and Jack Saettele (Meagan), her granddaughters, Ella and Lily Vandiver and future grandson, baby Lieb due in January, her mother, Joan Mooney, sister, Heidi Mooney Hauch, and many others who loved her dearly. A celebration of Jill’s life will take place in the coming months in both Fountain Hills, Arizona and St. Louis, Missouri; dates to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Kids with Cancer or The AWE Summit Scholarship Foundation.
