One has to feel sorry for the poor people who have to come up with ads for Arpaio, when there is so little to work with. So, we have one that tells us he likes animals. Great, but I don’t think he’s running for dog catcher. Is that just to make us forget the many thousands of unsolved felonies in Maricopa County?

Then we have the one where he’s whining about being picked on because he didn’t follow court orders to stop racial profiling and turn over evidence. Guess what, Joe — you aren’t above the law, and you do need to follow a judge’s orders. And even though you’ve tried to give it a different spin, that judge, Judge Snow, is a Republican, appointed by Bush. Hardly a bleeding heart liberal!

Lawsuits of illegal profiling have been brought by Mexican tourists (you’ve about killed off what used to be an important part of the AZ economy, Mexican tourism), and Hispanics (over 30 percent of AZ population) whose families have been residents of AZ far longer than Arpaio has. You ignored a court order, and though you tried to blame memory loss (age 90 by the end of a new term) by answering “I don’t recall” hundreds of times, that also shows you are not capable of handling this job.

Another ad claims how important families are to Joe, but there is no mention of the hundreds of child sex abuse cases that went uninvestigated.

Another fact that has gone unmentioned in Joe’s ads is that his lawsuits and crimes have cost us, the taxpayers, well over $140 million. Just think of what that money could have been used for.

It’s time for Joe to go! Vote for Paul Penzone for Sheriff and bring integrity back to Maricopa County!
