The well-known and often-seen John A. Connelly Jr. passed away Aug. 23, 2015.
Born Oct. 9, 1920. Mr. Connelly was a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II and then spent his working life in the travel business, able to see much of the world.
In his later years he retired to the Town of Fountain Hills and loved volunteering.
He would walk to Town Hall and the Fountain Hills Branch Library every chance he could get.
A staple for many years in the Friends of the Library’s used book store, John would easily converse with many customers who came by to buy books and see him.
He leaves behind two sons, Michael and John “Jack” Connelly, and their mom, Natalie.
