John Edward Steigerwald

John Edward Steigerwald, 90, of Fountain Hills, entered Eternal Life on July 28, 2017 with family by his side. He was born in Milwaukee, Wis. to John M. and Kathleen (Clifford) Steigerwald on March 19, 1927.

John is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, married 67 plus years; his children, Kathy (Bob) O’Brien, Peter (Mary) Steigerwald, Mark (Toni) Steigerwald, Mary (Gary) Luedke, Ann (Jim) Hauptli, Joan Steigerwald, Joe (Patty) Steigerwald and Meg (Bill) Lund; 46 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister, Mary (Don) Soltero; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Hartmann and Virginia Halaska; brother-in-law, Jim Brennan plus numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Howard; his brothers-in-laws, Don Soltero, Bob Hartmann and George Halaska and his sister-in-law, Joan Brennan.

John was raised in Wauwatosa, Wis., served in the U.S. Army and graduated from Marquette University with a degree in civil engineering. He married Nancy Grace Landgraf on Dec. 26, 1949. John owned and operated Steigerwald Construction, a third generation company that built many landmark buildings in Milwaukee.

Services were held at the Church of the Ascension, Fountain Hills on August 1, and at St. Mary Visitation Parish, Elm Grove, Wis. on Thursday, Aug. 17. Becker Ritter Funeral Home of Brookfield is serving the family, 262-782-5330. Please see beckerritter.com for complete notice.
