John H. Haas, a long-time resident of Fountain Hills, passed away at age 94 on Jan. 22, 2013. He was born on Sept. 28, 1918 in Richmond, Ind.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Colleen; two daughters; Pamela Case and her husband, Vernon of Scottsdale, and Diane Haas and her fiancé, John Back, of Scottsdale; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nephews, Mike Foley of Richmond, Ind., and Bill Foley of Ohio.
John graduated from Morton High School in Richmond in 1938, and began working for International Harvester Co. He served in the Army during WWII from 1942 to 1945.
In 1957 he moved to Phoenix and was employed by Goodyear Aerospace for 23 years as a contract administrator. In 1985 he retired and with his wife moved to Fountain Hills.
The family requests in lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of their choice.
