John Stephen Howard

John Stephen Howard, better known as “Jay,” brightened this world on Feb. 2, 1952 being born to William and Camille Howard in San Pedro, Calif. Jay was the youngest of three sons and grew up in Torrance, Calif. Jay loved the beach and was truly a beach boy.

Upon graduation Jay worked for Chaney’s Radio in Torrance, until moving to Fountain Hills in June of 1988, the hottest day on record. Jay joined the team at CNA Warranty in 1993 as a Claims Adjuster for auto claims until retiring in 2006 and moving to Chandler with his wife Barb Yunginger and their four footed kids, aka the cats.

Jay is survived by his wife, Barb, and his brother, Bob (Trish) Donovan of Lake Havasu City. Jay may be gone from this earth but his smile, his wit, his loyalty to friends and family not to mention that infamous smile and sense of humor will remain in our hearts forever.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 27, at 10 a.m. at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary. Contributions may be made to Hospice of The Valley, Lund Home, 1982 E. Woodside Court, Gilbert, AZ 85297.
