The Planning and Zoning Commission begins a new year this week with its joint session with the Town Council and consideration of appointing new leadership.
The joint session with the Town Council begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, in council chambers at Town Hall.
The agenda includes discussion with regard to council priorities including street maintenance and improvements and economic development policy.
The commission’s regular session will begin at 6:30 p.m. with consideration of appointing a new chairman and vice chairman. There are no new appointees on the commission for the coming year.
Current chairman is Lloyd Pew and vice chair is Angela Strohan.
The commission will hold a public hearing and discuss a special use permit that would allow a non-alcoholic teenage night club at 17225 E. Shea Boulevard.
This location is in the Kern Plaza.
The applicant seeking the special use permit is Mariana Zakirova for Teen Hotspot. Additional information on the application was not available as of press time.
The Planning and Zoning Commission meetings are open to the public.
