Joyce Henning

Joyce Marie Johnson Henning was born in Seattle, Wash. to Leroy and Alice Johnson on Oct. 10, 1940. She passed away in Fountain Hills on Feb. 16, 2014.

After graduation, Joyce worked with computers at the Seattle Police Department.

When she married Jim Shields they moved to Eastern Oregon in 1970 and settled in Prairie City, Ore. in 1972.

She worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a computer tech in places such as Priest Lake, Idaho; Lake Tahoe; San Francisco; La Point, Utah; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Willows, Calif.; and La Pine, Ore. where she retired.

In 2012, she moved to Fountain Hills to be near her newest granddaughter.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Skip Shields (Rebekah) of La Pine, Ore.; Mike Shields (Irina) of Fountain Hills; granddaughters, Kayla Jones of Lancaster, Calif., Shahaley McVey (Kendall) of Bend, Ore.; her brother, Ken Johnson of Edmonds, Wash.; plus nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Kristy Jones, and her sister, Jean Johnson.
