Organizers are looking for volunteer judges in the Fountain Hills area to take part in the Cactus Clash Speech and Debate Tournament, hosted by the Mars Hill Speech and Debate Club.

Participants can sign up for one or more speech and debate rounds, each lasting about three hours, according to a press release. No experience is necessary.

“We’re looking for judges like you, people with real-world experience who want to make a lasting impact,” reads a statement in the press release. “No prior debate or speech experience required. Just a willingness to listen, encourage and offer feedback.”

Debate and speech judge orientation will be online and require a 1.5-hour commitment prior to the event. Live and recorded training sessions will be available.

Those interested in judging can call Erin Nicholas at 480-233-3088 to register by phone, or email erin.nicholas@cox.net.

To register to be a judge, participants may visit stoahub.org/tournament/cactus-clash-2025/communityjudgeregistration.

The tournament will be held Oct. 23-25 at Cornerstone Family Church, 10215 N. Saguaro Blvd.
