Based on the bestselling books by Barbara Parks, the saga of the wisecracking first-grader continues as the Fountain Hills Youth Theater has announced the opening show of their 2023-2024 season, “Junie B.’s Essential Survival Guide to School.”
A self-appointed expert on all things first grade, Junie B. is determined to write the ultimate guide, “Junie B.’s Essential Survival Guide to School.” As she deals with writer’s block and constantly gets into trouble, Junie B. quickly realizes that she still has a lot to learn.
“Junie B.’s Essential Survival Guide to School” is directed by Ross Collins and produced by Marcie Rozalsky, with musical direction by Jay Melberg, choreography by Savannah Grottenthaler and costume design by Toya Abrams.

The cast features Jordan Abrams, Norah Bowman, Kellen Bryant, Michelle Elena Cutler, Kloee Day, Jonathan Phillippi, Makayla Rogers and Cayden Santillan.
“Junie B.’s Essential Survival Guide to School” plays Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., Oct 20-23 and 27-29. Ticket prices are $18. Group Discounts are available.
Tickets are available through the theater box office at 480-837-9661 x3 or by visiting fhtaz.org. Box office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Performances take place at Fountain Hills Theater, 11445 N. Saguaro Blvd.
