Juried Art Show winners announced

Photographer Beth Warren was named “best in show” at the 2018 Fountain Hills Annual Juried Art Show awards reception Jan. 10.

Her winning piece, “Wild Horse Running Free,” was among 92 entries in the competition.

Artists and their families attended the reception at the Community Center. Art pieces are hanging at the center through Jan. 31. A total of $800 was awarded to the winning entries, along with 22 ribbons.

Juried Art Show winners announced

Photographer Beth Warren was named “best in show” at the 2018 Fountain Hills Annual Juried Art Show awards reception Jan. 10.

Her winning piece, “Wild Horse Running Free,” was among 92 entries in the competition.

Artists and their families attended the reception at the Community Center. Art pieces are hanging at the center through Jan. 31. A total of $800 was awarded to the winning entries, along with 22 ribbons.

The Art League and Fountain Hills Cultural and Civic Association sponsor the annual juried show. The public is invited to view the art at the Community Center.

The winning entries and their categories follow:

Photography and Digital Imaging: First place, Michael Isenberg; second, Bruce Boyle; honorable mention, Carol Carroll.

Watercolor Painting: First, Christine Ehmann; second, Joan Campbell; honorable mention, Marjorie Barritt.

Oil Painting: First, Mike Shogren; second, Chris Demma; honorable mention, Carol Cunningham.

Acrylic Painting: First, Carol Ofsthun; second, Caitlin Wilson; honorable mention, Robin Hoyt.

Drawing – Pastes, Ink, Charcoal and Pencil: First, Rosalie Lazarus; second, Joan Rand; no honorable mention.

Mixed Media: First, Justine Mantor-Waldie; second, Judith Rothenstein Putzer; honorable mention: Angel Elquest.

Other Works: First, Greg Smentek; second, John Zinn; honorable mention, Deborah Etcheson.

Judges were Dr. Meryl P. Epstein and Dr. Gingher Leyendecker.
