• Fountain Hills Times: “Board fires Aister - Popular teacher is still in shock”

• Arizona Republic: “A teacher shortage - Arizona schools are struggling to find qualified educators who’ll put up with low pay, long hours, high expectations”

Last Wednesday two newspapers arrived at my home. I was struck by the contrasting front-page headlines:

• Fountain Hills Times: “Board fires Aister - Popular teacher is still in shock”

• Arizona Republic: “A teacher shortage - Arizona schools are struggling to find qualified educators who’ll put up with low pay, long hours, high expectations”

Memo to local charter school: Hire Pam Aister.

Memo to Fountain Hills voters: Don’t punish the students -- Vote “yes” for the override!
