I am sure most of you have watched your child, grandchild, niece or nephew use electronic devices or apply an electronic application. Children are able to create or consume ideas on devices that seven years ago would not have been at their fingertips, for example, an iPad.
While watching our three granddaughters recently, I noted that the five-year-old was using our laptop to play a math game, the near three-year-old was using my iPhone to watch a video and the seven-month-old was playing with a toy that played music while flashing numbers counted to 10.

This scene prompted me to think that in seven years (the life of the override issue that’s on our ballot for the School
District) our girls will be in 6th grade, 4th grade and 2nd grade.
I wonder what types of technology will be developed between now and then. I wonder how our schools will keep current with equipment if the override renewal doesn’t pass. Just like it takes significant funds to maintain our homes each year, schools need funds to keep them up-to-date and functioning at a high level.
As a former school administrator, I have an understanding of how important it is that our school capital override be renewed. I would encourage you to help support our schools to continue the work they do to educate the children in this community. Fountain Hills Unified School District needs the funds from the upcoming override renewal to keep up-to-date with the technology and textbooks used to prepare our children to function in our fast-paced world.
I hope that you will join my husband and me and vote yes for this important override renewal.
