Little Falcons socialize with ice cream

Ice cream and chocolate syrup were served at the annual Little Falcons Preschool Ice Cream Social.

Parents brought their kids to the preschool for a good time and a chance to meet the other parents. Director of Early Childhood and Preschool Teacher Denise Matus talked about the purpose of this event and how beneficial it is for both students and parents.

“We started a couple of years ago, wanting to get the students’ parents together and meet each other,” Matus said. “Possibly build a bond and organize play dates among each other.”

This event is more than just ice cream. It’s a time for preschool students to have fun after school and teachers to make connections with their parents. Parents get a chance to acquire more insight about the teachers and how they teach their children.

“It’s an opportunity to see the teachers in a different role and instead of schoolwork, the kids get a chance to be at school during the night having fun, which is exciting for them,” said Matus.

The event also hosted a coloring contest and an art gallery.
“We brainstormed this event a couple of years ago. We wanted to find a way for parents to see inside the school and meet their children’s friends,” Matus concluded.
