OPINION – I am certain residents will be awed when they see the first image from our International Dark Sky Discovery Center’s (IDSDC) PlaneWave Telescope of the Dumbbell Nebula. Even viewing it by email, and learning it lies 8,000 trillion miles from Earth, is mind-boggling.
That same update highlighted Dark Sky’s collaboration with Arizona State University and “what promises to be a strong and inspiring partnership between ASU and the IDSDC.” While something so promising is taking shape in Fountain Hills, we are contending with the personal agenda of a few wanting to erect a statue of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk in town.
In an ugly incident on the ASU campus last year, two Turning Point associates were charged with harassment, assault and disorderly conduct after confronting an ASU professor. They later admitted guilt to harassment.
