Of course the Koran contains contradictions statements just like other religious books, but the Koran explains what to do with the contradictions.

Koran -- if you have two contradictory verses -- older verse is ignored. Peaceful verses are older -- they have been replaced by newer violent verses.

Peaceful older passages were written early in Mohammad’s prophetic career.

If Muslims say Islam is peace and quote peaceful verses, they are using older verses that have been made null and void by newer violent verses.

The Bible and Torah can be interpreted several ways, but the Koran is a list of very specific direct and violent commands for waging war.
