Kudos to Town Council Members Hansen, Leger, Brown, Elkie and Dickey for voting to put the discussion of an anti-discrimination ordinance, pledge or plan on the agenda.
The first step in being informed is to have a thorough discussion. One has to wonder why Mayor Kavanagh and Vice Mayor Yates voted no on having a discussion regarding the options.
Tempe, Flagstaff, Phoenix and Tucson already have an anti-discrimination ordinance on the books. And other towns have or are considering an ordinance or pledge.

It would be good for tourism for Fountain Hills to go on record with a statement against discrimination toward anyone.
Hopefully, the Chamber of Commerce will be a strong force in pushing for an anti-discrimination ordinance.
