The high school volleyball team is in the midst of its final week of the regular season, having split a pair of matches last week against teams from Snowflake and Cortez.

This final run leading up to postseason play began on Tuesday, Oct. 21, with a home match versus Moon Valley.

Anyone hoping to see the local ladies play at home one more time before the season ends should make sure to visit the high school gym tomorrow night, Oct. 23, at 6 p.m. That’s when the Falcons will host the visiting squad from Flagstaff.

Finally, the regular season comes to a close with a rare Saturday match this weekend, Oct. 25, with a 6 p.m. competition hosted out of Blue Ridge.

Despite school being out of session for fall break, the Lady Falcons kept plenty busy last week with two matches. Individual stats were not available as of press time.

On Tuesday, Oct. 14, the local ladies hosted the Snowflake Lobos. The visitors proved to be an especially tough opponent, staying out of reach of the Falcons in the first two games and winning by a score of 25-16 twice in a row.

The Falcons fought back valiantly, though, pushing the third and final game of the match into extra points, but still falling behind the Lobos 27-25 to give them the 3-0 overall victory.

The tide turned well in favor of the Falcons two nights later as the girls hit the road to take on the team from Cortez High School.

The Falcons had little trouble claiming a victory in this outing, handily besting Cortez in three quick games.

The Falcons went up 25-10 in game one, 25-11 in game two and 25-8 in game three to earn the 3-0 victory overall.
