Laser shows

Councilman Tolis’ comments in the Aug. 30 Times article are interesting. He just can’t understand why people are so upset with the lagoon proposal at this early stage?

An old axiom may be appropriate: “If you can keep your wits about you when all around are losing theirs; perhaps you don’t understand the problem.”

Mr. Tolis did hit on an interesting idea, however. He suggested the lagoon might be an excellent location for laser light displays. In fact, our present lake has previously been suggested as an ideal location for laser light and dancing water shows.

So here’s an idea: Laser light and water shows are good for tourism; tourism is good for business; and business is good for the community.

How about the Chamber of Commerce apply some art show profits and fundraising effort toward installation of laser light and dancing water shows in the lake and fountain we already maintain? Everybody wins!
