Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man on drug-related charges after they were called to a church parking lot in the 16000 block of El Lago Boulevard on Monday, April 30.

The man had pulled up behind a second vehicle preventing the driver of that car from leaving the parking lot. Deputies were called on a report of a suspicious person.

Deputies communicated with the man through a partially open window, but he refused to open the door or cooperate with deputies.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man on drug-related charges after they were called to a church parking lot in the 16000 block of El Lago Boulevard on Monday, April 30.

The man had pulled up behind a second vehicle preventing the driver of that car from leaving the parking lot. Deputies were called on a report of a suspicious person.

Deputies communicated with the man through a partially open window, but he refused to open the door or cooperate with deputies.

The suspect admitted he was smoking crack cocaine and in fact took a hit in the presence of deputies.

One deputy was eventually able to reach into the vehicle through the open window and release the door lock manually.

The man was taken into custody and booked on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of dangerous drugs.

*On Friday, April 27, a Phoenix man was cited for leaving the scene of an accident following a hit and run in a parking lot in the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Boulevard.

*On Wednesday, April 25, a man was cited for disorderly conduct and theft following an incident in a restaurant in the 11000 block of Saguaro Boulevard. Restaurant personnel identified the man and said he got into a loud argument with the manager and left without paying for his order. The man told deputies he did argue with the manager about the food, and said he did not pay because he did not eat the meal. The report has been referred to the Town Prosecutor for charging.

*On Thursday, April 26, deputies took a report that an unknown person had gained access to information of a local golf club and had forged business checks totaling $105.

*On Tuesday, April 24, deputies took a report regarding the possible theft of a diamond ring from a hotel room in the 12000 block of Saguaro Boulevard. The owner said the ring is valued at $9,500.

*On Saturday, April 28, personnel at a Fountain Hills hotel in the 17000 block of Shea Boulevard reported a Peoria man had left without paying his bill, and hotel property valued at $50 was missing from the room he was in. They identified the man as a regular guest from Peoria who stays at the hotel when he is working next door.

*On Sunday, April 29, deputies were called to an accident scene on Saguaro Boulevard near Monterey Drive. A vehicle traveling southbound on Saguaro experienced a tire blowout when it jerked left and struck a second vehicle traveling in the same direction. The vehicle with the damaged tire then crossed over the median and into the northbound lanes. No one was injured.

*On Saturday, April 28, deputies investigated an accident involving a motorcycle on Palisades Boulevard. The motorcycle lost control and struck a curb throwing the operator into a nearby wash. He was treated at the scene by fire department paramedics and transported to a Scottsdale hospital for treatment of several injuries. Witnesses told deputies the motorcycle was traveling in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed just before the accident. The operator will be cited for failure to control his vehicle to avoid an accident.

*On Monday, April 30, a Fountain Hills man reported the theft of a trailer from a parking spot in a storage yard in the 16000 block of Laser Drive.

*On Monday, April 30, a resident of the 9000 block of Monterey Drive reported someone struck their mailbox with a vehicle and fled the scene.

*On Monday, April 30, a Fort McDowell man walked up to a deputy in a parking lot and asked for a ride to the We-Ko-Pa resort at Fort McDowell. The deputy said he would give the courtesy ride and asked the man for his name. The deputy ran a check on the name and found a valid warrant for the man’s arrest. He got his ride to 4th Avenue Jail in Phoenix.

*Police have arrested a 33-year-old Phoenix woman, charging her with sexual exploitation of a 14-year-old minor male living in Fountain Hills. The boy’s father found sexually explicit messages and photographs on the boy’s phone and called police. The woman faces 11 counts of aggravated luring a minor for sexual exploitation and 11 counts of transmitting obscene material to a minor and three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. A judge has ordered the woman to not have any contact with minor children – including her own.
