Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies received three separate reports on Monday, May 14, from business owners in the downtown area that vehicles parked outside the businesses were damaged or burglarized over the weekend. All of the reported incidents took place in the parking area between Palisades Boulevard, La Montana Drive, Parkview Avenue and Verde River Drive.

A woman reported fuel stolen from two vehicles parked outside a childcare business at Palisades Blvd. and Verde River Drive. She told deputies she arrived at work and noticed the fuel compartment doors open on the vehicles.

A flooring and construction business reported four of their company vehicles were broken into and tools valued at $5,000 to $6,000 were stolen.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies received three separate reports on Monday, May 14, from business owners in the downtown area that vehicles parked outside the businesses were damaged or burglarized over the weekend. All of the reported incidents took place in the parking area between Palisades Boulevard, La Montana Drive, Parkview Avenue and Verde River Drive.

A woman reported fuel stolen from two vehicles parked outside a childcare business at Palisades Blvd. and Verde River Drive. She told deputies she arrived at work and noticed the fuel compartment doors open on the vehicles.

A flooring and construction business reported four of their company vehicles were broken into and tools valued at $5,000 to $6,000 were stolen.

The third incident was a report of property valued at $1,000 stolen from a vehicle parked outside a vehicle restoration business on Parkview Avenue.

*On Saturday, May 5, deputies received a report of checks stolen from a residence in the 16000 block of Glenpoint Drive had been forged.

*On Tuesday, May 8, a Fountain Hills woman reported she attempted to purchase concert tickets for $200 and did not receive the tickets. She believes the seller was selling the same tickets multiple times.

*On Wednesday, May 9, deputies received a report that someone had struck a stop sign at the intersection of Sierra Madre Boulevard and Sunridge Drive. Town officials were notified to clean up the site and replace the sign.

*On Thursday, May 10, a Rio Verde resident reported receiving a call from a woman posing as an insurance agent who was asking for personal information.

*On Thursday, May 10, a Fountain Hills woman reported a mailbox damaged in the 14000 block of Yerba Buena Drive.

*On Saturday, May 12, deputies responded to a burglary alarm from Fountain Hills High School at 1 a.m. Deputies found that it appeared that someone had entered a building, but could not confirm anything was missing. They are following up on registration from vehicles in the parking lot at the time.

*On Sunday, May 13, a Fountain Hills woman reported a violation of an order of protection after receiving a number of phone calls from the suspect.

*On Monday, May 7, a Fountain Hills woman reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend at a residence in the 14000 block of Love Court. She said she was punched and he pushed a dresser onto her. The woman fled the scene and called deputies to report if from a family home in Florida.

*On Sunday, May 13, a Fountain Hills man was cited for driving with a suspended license after he was stopped for making a right turn on red at Palisades and Shea boulevards.

*On Monday, May 14, a man reported someone used his Social Security number to open a cellular phone account.

*On Monday, May 14, deputies received a report of a hit and run incident in a parking lot in the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Blvd.

On Thursday, May 10, an unknown suspect made threats to the manager of a Fountain Hills car wash.

*On Friday, May 11, deputies received a report of a stolen car stereo from a vehicle parked at a repair shop in the 11000 block of Saguaro Blvd.

*Deputies received a report of a stolen laptop from a residence in the 14000 block of Love Court. The computer is valued at $1,200 to $1,400. The resident also reported mail stolen from his mailbox on May 15.

*On Monday, May 14, a Fountain Hills man was cited for disorderly conduct following an encounter between him and his dog and a woman jogging in Fountain Park. The woman was frightened when the dog became aggressive as she ran by and was forced up against a parked vehicle. She had no contact with the dog and was not injured. Witnesses reported the dog’s owner used obscene language in talking to the woman before he left the scene.

*On Tuesday, May 15, a Fountain Hills resident reported receiving a call from a person identifying themselves as a bank employee and asked for personal information.

*On Wednesday, May 16, deputies responded with the fire department to a residential fire in the 15000 block of Verbena Drive. Smoke was caused by an electrical issue with a clothes dryer.

*On Wednesday, May 16, a Fountain Hills woman was stopped for speeding on Saguaro Boulevard near Ledferd Lane and was found to be driving with a suspended license.

*On Tuesday, May 1, a man was arrested in Phoenix for retail theft after allegedly stealing from eight different Target stores in the Valley, including Fountain Hills. Other stores were in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Chandler, Mesa and Gilbert. Anthony Sawyer, 28, is accused of stealing $8,200 in merchandise since November 2017. Sheriff’s deputies reported the items stolen from the Fountain Hills Target were valued at $800.
