Maricopa County Sheriffs’ deputies are asking that a Fountain Hills man be charged with possession of marijuana paraphernalia following an encounter on Friday, April 13.

Deputies were responding to a report of a burglary in progress and after arriving on the scene, they made contact with a man outside the home.

The man told deputies he lives at the residence three or four days a week and he took them to the room he stays in at the house.

Maricopa County Sheriffs’ deputies are asking that a Fountain Hills man be charged with possession of marijuana paraphernalia following an encounter on Friday, April 13.

Deputies were responding to a report of a burglary in progress and after arriving on the scene, they made contact with a man outside the home.

The man told deputies he lives at the residence three or four days a week and he took them to the room he stays in at the house.

Deputies found marijuana smoking paraphernalia in the room and the man admitted it was his. The report is being referred to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for possible charges.

*Deputies are asking for charges against a Chandler man for possession of methamphetamine after a skateboard accident on Chicory Drive Friday, April 13. The man was in town with his sister while she delivered food orders. He asked her to let him out so he could ride his skateboard down Chicory Drive. A deputy in the area saw the man just before the accident and was on the scene immediately after the man fell from the board near Thistle Drive. While the man was being treated for injuries a small package of a white substance was found on his person. The substance field tested for meth. The injured man was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries and may face possession charges when he is released.

*On Thursday, April 12, deputies received a report of copper wire valued at $4,000 was stolen from a construction site in the 16000 block of Avenue of the Fountains. The victim said he was unwilling to assist in prosecution.

*On Saturday, April 14, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for DUI in the area of Palisades Boulevard and Sunflower Drive. A deputy on patrol at 2:45 a.m. came across a vehicle stopped in the middle of the street with emergency flashers on. He found one of the vehicle’s tires was shredded to the rim.

*On Saturday, April 14, deputies responded to an accident on Rio Verde Drive near Forest Road. A motorcycle was down and the rider had already been transported by emergency personnel. It appeared the motorcycle was traveling too fast to make the turn.

*On Friday, April 13, deputies responded to a domestic fight (mutual) in the 17000 block of Calle del Oro. A woman reported she had been assaulted by her husband following a verbal argument. They were arguing whether he should leave home and it escalated to a physical confrontation. The husband was not at home and not immediately contacted about the incident.

*On Tuesday, April 17, a Fountain Hills woman reported she was contacted by the Social Security Administration telling her someone had used her SS number in attempting to secure unemployment benefits.

*On Thursday, April 12, deputies were contacted by an agent of Adult Protective Services about a possible incident of physical abuse of the elderly at a Fountain Hills assisted living facility. The incident occurred in December 2017 and several of the people involved are out of state and out of the country and no longer available for follow up investigation. A man serving with power of attorney for the victim told deputies he wants to pursue the case.
