Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies in Fountain Hills cited a man involved in a single vehicle crash on Saguaro Boulevard Thursday, Feb. 15.
Deputies found the man working under the hood of the vehicle that came to rest facing south in the bushes along the northbound side of the roadway. He said he was disconnecting the vehicle’s battery.
The man also said someone else was driving, who had left the scene after the accident.
The roadway was wet from rain and deputies found skid marks indicating the vehicle traveled more than 100 yards from the southbound lanes, through the median where a sign was damaged, and crossed and exited the pavement on the northbound side of the road.
Deputies determined the man at the scene was the driver and cited him for failure to control his vehicle and speed not reasonable.
