Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man working as a plumber at a Fountain Hills residents for theft after items reported missing from the home were found in his vehicle.
A resident of the 16000 block of Balsam Drive called deputies on Monday, Jan. 22, after she noticed some jewelry items missing while the plumber was still working at the house.
Deputies questioned the man, who denied knowing anything about the missing items and said he even asked the woman if he could help her look.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man working as a plumber at a Fountain Hills residents for theft after items reported missing from the home were found in his vehicle.
A resident of the 16000 block of Balsam Drive called deputies on Monday, Jan. 22, after she noticed some jewelry items missing while the plumber was still working at the house.
Deputies questioned the man, who denied knowing anything about the missing items and said he even asked the woman if he could help her look.
After the man denied permission for deputies to search his vehicle they contacted the man’s boss, who gave consent for the search.
Deputies found a sock with three rings reported missing and a watch was also located, which the suspect said he believes was picked up accidently while he was cleaning up.
Deputies also found pills and drug paraphernalia in the van.
The man was arrested for theft and providing false information to an officer; he had provided a false name.
*On Wednesday, Jan. 17, deputies responded to a report of an altercation between two parties in the 14000 block of Briarwood Drive.
*On Thursday, Jan. 18, personnel with the Fountain Hills Unified School District reported damage to school busses located at the bus garage off Rand Drive. A fuel line had been cut on one of the busses and seats were cut in several others.
*On Thursday, Jan. 18, a woman reported that a Fountain Hills man had used her identification to sell a vehicle on social media.
*On Thursday, Jan. 18, a Fountain Hills woman reported she was a victim of fraud after she attempted to purchase a recreational trailer using $2,000 in eBay gift cards.
*On Friday, Jan. 19, a Fountain Hills man reported someone had used his Social Security number to obtain a job.
*On Saturday, Jan. 20, a man reported someone broke into his vehicle parked in the 14000 block of Ibsen Drive and removed documents from a wallet in his briefcase.
*On Sunday, Jan. 21, a woman reported being assaulted by her boyfriend while staying at her father’s residence on Golden Eagle Boulevard in Fountain Hills. The man reportedly had been drinking, dumped several condiments on the floor of the home and left the scene. The case is pending an interview with the suspect.
*On Tuesday, Jan. 23, a Fountain Hills man was cited for speeding after his vehicle struck a tree in the median on Saguaro Boulevard. A witness told deputies the man was acting strangely following the incident, but there were no signs he was impaired. He was being evaluated for a possible medical episode. The man was cited for speed not reasonable and prudent and having no mandatory insurance.
*On Wednesday, Jan. 24, a Fountain Hills woman was cited for domestic violence assault and domestic violence disorderly conduct following a fight she had with her father, when she allegedly struck him in the face.
