Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 14000 block of Edgeworth Drive on Thursday, Aug. 10, when a neighbor reported seeing a man and woman going in and out of a broken window at the side of the house.

Deputies made contact with the woman suspect based on the vehicle description and she reported they had permission to go into the house, but denied going through the window. She said they had a key to the front door.

Two men renting the house both happen to be in jail at the time and deputies followed up with them and both said they did not give anyone permission to be in the house.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 14000 block of Edgeworth Drive on Thursday, Aug. 10, when a neighbor reported seeing a man and woman going in and out of a broken window at the side of the house.

Deputies made contact with the woman suspect based on the vehicle description and she reported they had permission to go into the house, but denied going through the window. She said they had a key to the front door.

Two men renting the house both happen to be in jail at the time and deputies followed up with them and both said they did not give anyone permission to be in the house.

The investigation is continuing.

*On Wednesday, Aug. 9, a man reported someone used his identification information to open a cell phone account. He discovered the theft when he was contacted by a collection agency for a $3,000 debt.

*On Wednesday, Aug. 9, deputies were called to the Fountain Hills Safeway store for a Fountain Hills man shoplifting. He was accused of taking $74 in merchandise and was cited and released.

*On Wednesday, Aug. 9, the Fountain Hills Target store reported three separate shoplifting incidents over the previous few days. Suspects are believed to have taken electronic merchandise totaling $1,347 during the three incidents.

*On Friday, Aug. 11, deputies and fire department personnel were called to McDowell Mountain Park to rescue a man from a park trail. The man was located on the Dixie Mine Trail by sheriff’s helicopter and was suffering from dehydration and heat exhaustion. He was taken by ambulance to a Scottsdale hospital for treatment.

*On Thursday, Aug. 10, deputies received a report of a burglary at a residence in the 15000 block of Dixileta Drive. The victim reported seeing three suspects leave the house as she drove up and recognized one was her brother. Among items reported taken were silver coins, guitars valued at $1,500, computers and tools.

*On Saturday, Aug. 12, deputies were called to the Safeway store about a reported shoplifting incident. A Fountain Hills woman was accused of taking merchandise valued at $44.

*On Saturday, Aug. 12, a Fountain Hills woman reported she had been assaulted by her boyfriend at a residence in the 12000 block of Chama Drive. She reported an argument and physical confrontation in which she reported being injured. Deputies located the man on Sunday, Aug. 13, and he was booked into jail for domestic violence aggravated assault and kidnapping.

*On Sunday, Aug. 13, deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the area of Summerhill Boulevard in Fountain Hills. The victim is a male who was working in the area. He had loaned his vehicle to a female acquaintance and she had not returned with the vehicle. He also suspects she made purchases totaling $326 on his debit card. He said he loaned her the vehicle and the card to purchase food and drink for them.

*On Monday, Aug. 14, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone used her personal identification to purchase a vehicle from a Kansas dealership.

*On Monday, Aug. 14, a Fountain Hills woman reported a missing handgun as she was packing her belongings to leave the residence of her ex-boyfriend. She told deputies she believes the ex is responsible for the theft, which he denied.

*On Wednesday, Aug. 16, deputies received two separate reports of vehicle break-ins with a purse stolen in each case. Both cars were in the parking lots at the south end of Fountain Park while the owners went for a walk. Each of the vehicles had a broken window and the purses taken contained documents, identification, driver license, bank card and some cash. The break-in occurred in the same time frame between 8 and 9 p.m.
