Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Safeway store in Fountain Hills on Sunday, May 28, after store personnel reported a Phoenix man attempted to pay using a counterfeit $100 bill.

The man told deputies he received the bill from an unknown man as payment for some artwork he sold the subject. He had no identification on the person, but agreed to supply an email he had received from the man.

*On Thursday, May 18, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone used her identification to open a checking and savings account at a local bank. She was notified by the bank to follow up.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Safeway store in Fountain Hills on Sunday, May 28, after store personnel reported a Phoenix man attempted to pay using a counterfeit $100 bill.

The man told deputies he received the bill from an unknown man as payment for some artwork he sold the subject. He had no identification on the person, but agreed to supply an email he had received from the man.

*On Thursday, May 18, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone used her identification to open a checking and savings account at a local bank. She was notified by the bank to follow up.

On Thursday, May 25, a woman walked into the Sheriff’s substation to report she had been assaulted by her boyfriend at a residence in the 16000 block of El Lago Boulevard. Deputies followed up with the suspect who told them he had been joking around. No action was taken.

*On Wednesday, May 24, the owner of a business in the 12000 block of Saguaro Boulevard reported someone had placed mattress and bags of clothing on the roof of the business.

*On Wednesday, May 17, a resident of the 15000 block of Ivory Drive reported someone stole a package that had been delivered to the front entry of his residence.

*On Friday, May 26, an off-duty deputy stopped a woman driving the wrong way on Avenue of the Fountains near Saguaro. An on-duty deputy was called to the scene and the woman was cited for DUI.

*On Saturday, May 27, a woman reported her wallet was taken from her purse while she was at a Fountain Hills restaurant.

*On Saturday, May 27, a man stopped for speeding near Saguaro and Palisades boulevards was cited for DUI.

*On Saturday, May 27, a deputy took custody of a lost juvenile on North 176th Street. When he attempted to turn the juvenile over to his nearest relative, an uncle, it was discovered that the uncle had two active warrants for his arrest. He was taken into custody.

*On Sunday, May 28, a Fountain Hills man reported someone used his identification to open a bank account.

*On Friday, May 26, a man was stopped for DUI on Saguaro Boulevard near Paul Nordin Parkway.

*On Tuesday, May 30, deputies received a report of criminal damage at a residence in the 11000 block of Saguaro Boulevard. A recessed light was removed from an interior ceiling.

*On Tuesday, May 30, deputies responded to a report of a vehicle accident on private property in the 15000 block of Palomino Boulevard. A mailbox had been struck by a vehicle that left the scene.

*On Monday, May 29, a Phoenix woman was arrested following a traffic stop by deputies working a holiday task force. She was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license.

*On Tuesday, May 31, loss prevention personnel at the Fountain Hills Target store reported the theft of a television valued at $400.

*On Thursday, June 1, a Phoenix woman got into a fight with her ex-boyfriend in the parking lot of the Fountain Hills Safeway. The man was working at the store and was taking a break with his new girlfriend who brought him lunch. The second woman was not involved in the altercation.
