Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies picked up a man in the parking lot of the MorningStar assisted living facility on Thursday, May 18, and took him to a Mesa mental health facility for an evaluation.

Staff at MorningStar called to report that the man was causing a disturbance at the facility and they wanted him removed.

Deputies found the man sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot where he had apparently spent the night. He told deputies one of his parents lived at MorningStar and he had come to visit.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies picked up a man in the parking lot of the MorningStar assisted living facility on Thursday, May 18, and took him to a Mesa mental health facility for an evaluation.

Staff at MorningStar called to report that the man was causing a disturbance at the facility and they wanted him removed.

Deputies found the man sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot where he had apparently spent the night. He told deputies one of his parents lived at MorningStar and he had come to visit.

He was taken involuntarily to the Mesa facility on a mental health petition.

*On Wednesday, May 10, a woman reported her son was at her residence in violation of a court order of protection. The woman told deputies the son had come to the home to collect some clothing, but remained outside smoking cigarettes for an extended period of time.

*On Wednesday, May 17, deputies investigated a collision on Fountain Hills Boulevard just south of Palisades Boulevard. The two vehicles were leaving driveways on the opposite sides of the street and collided trying to make turns into traffic. No one was injured. One driver was cited for failure to yield.

*On Thursday, May 18, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone attempted to open credit card accounts using her identity.

*On Friday, May 19, a Fountain Hills couple reported someone withdrew $24,000 from their bank accounts going to three separate bank branches between May 17 and May 18.

*On Saturday, May 20, town staff reported criminal damage at the women’s restroom at Desert Vista Park. A sink was cracked and a soap dispenser was removed from the wall.

*On Wednesday, May 17, deputies investigated a motorcycle down accident on the Bush Highway near the Butcher Jones Beach turnoff. The cyclist told deputies he hit loose gravel and skidded. He was transported to a Mesa hospital for treatment of injuries.

*On Sunday, May 21, a resident of the 16000 block of Alamosa Ave. reported someone broke a window at his residence. He believes the window was shot out. Deputies could not locate any bullet holes in the walls or any shell casings in the area.

*On Saturday, May 20, deputies were called by a resident of the 28000 block of N. 158th Place for a complaint about movers damaging property. The woman’s complaint was a civil matter, but they discovered one of the movers had a warrant for his arrest. He was booked into jail without incident.

*On Monday, May 22, deputies received a report that a vehicle had struck a traffic sign on Fountain Hills Boulevard just north of Saguaro. Deputies found the damaged sign post but the vehicle had left the area. The caller had collected some of the broken vehicle parts and turned them over to deputies.

*On Monday, May 22, a resident of the 17000 block of Tejon Drive reported a mountain bike valued at $500 had been stolen from their residence.

*On Monday, May 22, a Fountain Hills woman reported a representative of her bank had contacted her about someone attempting to access her bank accounts.

*On Thursday, May 18, a Fountain Hills rental car company reported someone had failed to return their rental vehicle. The vehicle had been fraudulently rented on a corporate account and Sheriff’s deputies in Orange County, Calif. made an inquiry based on the vehicle possibly associated with crimes in California.

*On Tuesday, May 23, a woman reported a burglary at a residence in the 27000 block of N. 137th Street. The woman said she was away between December and early May and her husband was staying at the house when property with an estimated value of $17,000 went missing. A housekeeper had told the woman her husband had another woman staying with him and they believe she may be a suspect in the theft of jewelry.

*On Tuesday, May 23, deputies received a report that a woman had used two $100 bills believed to be counterfeit at a coffee shop and grocery store in Fountain Hills.
