The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of criminal damage on the property of Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center in the 27000 block of N. 156th Street on Saturday, March 11.

Deputies were called after visitors to the center reported seeing spray painting on solar power panels, signs and even cactus.

Officials at the center estimate damage is $2,700. Deputies were updated on an ongoing dispute with a neighbor, and also discovered a negative blog post by an animal rights group.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of criminal damage on the property of Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center in the 27000 block of N. 156th Street on Saturday, March 11.

Deputies were called after visitors to the center reported seeing spray painting on solar power panels, signs and even cactus.

Officials at the center estimate damage is $2,700. Deputies were updated on an ongoing dispute with a neighbor, and also discovered a negative blog post by an animal rights group.

The investigation is continuing.

*On Monday, March 6, a Fountain Hills woman reported a total of seven flat tires on three vehicles belonging to her. The vehicles were parked at her home in the 17000 block of Calle Del Oro. The damage estimate is $600.

*On Tuesday, Feb. 28, a man reported identity theft after he was told his income tax filing was rejected by the IRS because it had already been filed.

*On Tuesday, March 7, a Fountain Hills man age 18 was taken to a Scottsdale hospital by the fire department after he was found highly intoxicated, and making suicidal statements. Potential charges against the man are pending for underage consumption of alcohol and underage possession of alcohol.

*On Wednesday, March 8, deputies received a report from Arizona Propane that someone had stolen a stump grinder valued at $13,000 from a parking lot in the 17000 block of Shea Boulevard.

*On Thursday, March 2, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone attempted to use her personal identification out of state.

*On Saturday, March 4, Fountain Hills woman reported a neighbor told her someone pulled up to her mailbox in a car and removed a letter that had been placed there for pickup with the flag up. The item taken was simply a thank you note, but the woman believed the incident should be reported.

*On Wednesday, March 8, a pool service company reported the theft of pool equipment from a residence in the 27000 block of N. 137th Street. A company technician was working to replace a heater when the noticed the items missing.

*On Saturday, March 11, a Tempe woman received apparently minor injuries when she fell from her bicycle on McDowell Mountain Road near Forest Road. A tire on the bike went flat causing the woman to fall off into bushes along the road. She was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

*On Friday, March 10, a resident of the 14000 block of Bowstring Plaza reported someone removed the license plate from their vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence.

*On Saturday, March 11, a resident of the 14000 block of Yerba Buena Way reported the theft of a bicycle valued at $250 from in front of their home.

*On Sunday, March 12, a man reported someone removed a backpack containing a laptop computer from his vehicle parked in the 16000 block of Crystal Ridge Drive. The vehicle was not locked, and items including a digital camera totaling $3,185 in value were taken.

*On Sunday, March 12, deputies responding to the 14000 block of Ibsen Drive made contact with a man who was wanted for an outstanding warrant. The man was taken into custody and held for Scottsdale Police.

*On Sunday, March 12, a resident of the 16000 block of Palisades Boulevard reported someone had “egged” her vehicle while it was parked in front of her residence while she was away.
