Maricopa County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a Fountain Hills woman for allegedly misusing funds from the homeowners association that she served as treasurer.

The arrest was made Jan. 12, following a lengthy investigation. The woman is accused of using a bank debit card on the HOA account for her personal use. She also allegedly falsified financial reports in an effort to hide the shortages.

Detectives estimate the woman made about 140 unauthorized transactions using the HOA debit card.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a Fountain Hills woman for allegedly misusing funds from the homeowners association that she served as treasurer.

The arrest was made Jan. 12, following a lengthy investigation. The woman is accused of using a bank debit card on the HOA account for her personal use. She also allegedly falsified financial reports in an effort to hide the shortages.

Detectives estimate the woman made about 140 unauthorized transactions using the HOA debit card.

The case information was forwarded to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for review of pending charges.

*On Monday, Jan. 9, deputies were asked to check on the welfare of a Fountain Hills man after his mother reported she was unable to contact him. Deputies went to the residence in the 16000 block of Primrose Drive and found a decomposed body they believe to be the man who lived at the residence. The investigation is pending a report from the Maricopa County medical examiner.

*On Sunday, Jan. 15, a resident reported the theft of two metal garden statues from in front of a home in the 11000 block of Saguaro Blvd. The total value is estimated at $140.

*On Sunday, Jan. 15, deputies responded to a report of a Fountain Hills man being assaulted near Saguaro Boulevard and Monterey Drive. The man reported he got out of his car to investigate a minor rear-end strike. He said several men got out of the other vehicle and started beating him. A passerby told the attackers he was calling 911 and they fled the scene. A second witness followed the attacker’s vehicle and provided deputies information regarding the vehicle.

*On Monday, Jan. 16, a resident of the 17000 block of La Pasada Drive reported golf clubs valued at $1,000 stolen from a vehicle parked in front of his residence. The vehicle was not locked.

*On Tuesday, Jan. 17, a Fountain Hills man reported he has been receiving monthly bills since July for a cell phone account that was opened fraudulently.

*On Tuesday, Jan. 17, deputies received a report from representatives of the Community Garden that someone entered the property near the library and Community Center and damaged a number of concrete blocks stacked on the site. It was also discovered that water valves had been turned on in an effort to flood beds. However, the water to the valves was not on.

*On Friday, Jan. 13, a Fountain Hills woman reported a campsite in Ashbrook Wash behind her home. Deputies found evidence of a possible ID for the suspect and collected belongings from the site. A man later came to the Sheriff’s Office at Town Hall to claim his camping gear and he was arrested for trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia found with the equipment.

*On Monday, Jan. 16, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had stolen her purse from her vehicle parked in a commercial parking lot in the 16000 block of Palisades Blvd. The purse had a value of $300 and contained personal documents and gift cards.

*On Wednesday, Jan. 18, deputies received reports from residents on Crystal Point Drive that a group of five clustered mailboxes had been broken into and damaged and mail apparently taken. Local postal officials said the incident had been reported by the carrier and reported to USPS officials.

*On Wednesday, Jan. 18, a Fountain Hills man was arrested on domestic violence charges following a fight with his fiancé. The woman’s 12-year-old daughter fled to a neighbor’s house to call 911 and deputies heard the woman calling for help as they arrived. The man allegedly pulled the woman’s hair out and was choking her. She was taken to the hospital. Deputies took the suspect into custody without incident and he faces potential charges for aggravated assault, criminal damage, disorderly conduct and aggravated domestic violence.

*On Thursday, Jan. 19, a Phoenix man was found lighting fireworks in the 17000 block of Shea Boulevard. He was given a written warning for a Town Code violation related to fireworks.

*On Friday, Jan. 20, deputies responded with the fire department to a garage fire in the 16000 block of Heather Drive. There was minor damage to the residence.

*On Saturday, Jan. 21, a Glendale man was stopped for speeding on Saguaro Boulevard near Palmer Way and cited for speeding and having no driver license.

*On Sunday, Jan. 22, a man was taken into custody following an alleged assault on his wife at a residence in the 29000 block of N. 141st Place in the unincorporated county. The two had been arguing and the confrontation escalated into a physical conflict.

*On Sunday, Jan. 22, deputies arrested a man for assaulting his mother at a residence in the 31000 block of N. 160th Street. The father pulled the suspect off of his wife and held him down until deputies arrived.
