Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies in Fountain Hills responded to a report of a man making threats and intimidating employees at the Denny’s restaurant at Shea and Saguaro Sunday, Sept. 25.

The man was reportedly in the restaurant late Saturday and complained about a take-out order he picked up.

He returned on Sunday to demand his money back and threatened employees. Deputies were told he said he would “blow up the place with the black (manager) guy inside.”

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies in Fountain Hills responded to a report of a man making threats and intimidating employees at the Denny’s restaurant at Shea and Saguaro Sunday, Sept. 25.

The man was reportedly in the restaurant late Saturday and complained about a take-out order he picked up.

He returned on Sunday to demand his money back and threatened employees. Deputies were told he said he would “blow up the place with the black (manager) guy inside.”

Deputies found numerous shell casings in the parking lot at the store including three rifle and 13 handgun casings. However, the Sheriff’s Office received no reports of shots fired in the area, and there was no indication the casings were connected to the suspect threatening the restaurant.

*On Monday, Sept. 26, a resident of the 16000 block of Saguaro Boulevard reports someone had punctured tires of their vehicle parked outside the residence. Damage is estimated at $1,300.

*On Thursday, Sept. 22, deputies assisted a Sun City man who was walking and crawling in and out of traffic at Shea and Saguaro Boulevards at about 8:30 a.m. Deputies stayed with and talked with the man until someone arrived to transport him to a psychiatric evaluation center in Mesa.

*On Thursday, Sept. 22, a Fountain Hills woman reported the theft of a radar detector from her vehicle while it was at a car wash in Fountain Hills.

*On Monday, Sept. 26, a Tempe man was arrested and cited for driving a vehicle with the license plate under suspension for insurance. He was also cited for failing to provide proof of insurance responsibility.

*On Tuesday, Sept. 27, deputies received a report that a man went into the Circle K on Saguaro Boulevard and took liquor valued at $40 and left without paying.

*On Wednesday, Sept. 28, a Fountain Hills woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant. She was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation. The warrant was for a probation violation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

*On Friday, Sept. 30, a Fountain Hills woman reported she believes her daughter had fraudulently used her credit card number to make unauthorized purchases. The purchases totaled $943 and were made between June 25 and Sept. 21. The daughter provided deputies with explanations for the credit card charges. The case has been referred to the county attorney for consideration of charges.

*On Sunday, Oct. 2, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone entered her residence in the 16000 block of Sabinas Drive. She believes it was a teenage girl who lives in the neighborhood who has come to her house before. The woman did not wish to prosecute. Nothing was taken or damage done.

*On Saturday, Oct. 1, deputies responded to a two-vehicle non-injury accident on Shea Boulevard at Center Parkway (entrance to the Target center). A woman pulled out of Center to make a right turn onto Shea when she collided with a vehicle traveling east on Shea. The woman was cited for an unsafe lane change and no proof of insurance.

*On Friday, Sept. 29, a woman reported someone had smashed the window of her vehicle parked at Desert Vista Park and removed her purse. The purse contained bank cards, a check book, a driver license and identification. There was no cash. The woman reported the incident to her bank to freeze activity on her account.

*On Tuesday, Sept. 27, a Fountain Hills man was stopped on Saguaro Boulevard at Pepperwood Drive and cited for extreme DUI with a blood alcohol level exceeding .20. He was also cited for no proof of insurance.
