Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man following a suspected road rage incident Thursday, Oct. 13.

Deputies reported the suspect actually walked into their office to report the other man had “cut him off” in traffic.

During the course of their investigation deputies determined it was the man who reported the incident who eventually became the aggressor, and he admitted to many of his actions.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man following a suspected road rage incident Thursday, Oct. 13.

Deputies reported the suspect actually walked into their office to report the other man had “cut him off” in traffic.

During the course of their investigation deputies determined it was the man who reported the incident who eventually became the aggressor, and he admitted to many of his actions.

He got out of his car to challenge the other driver at a traffic light, going so far as to open the car door. He then followed the other car to a parking lot where he got out again and took a stick from his back seat and approached the other man, brandishing the stick.

These incidents were also witnessed by others.

The man faces charges of aggravated assault.

*On Monday, Oct. 10, a Fountain Hills woman reported an unknown person had attempted to open a credit card account using her husband’s name and information without his permission.

*On Monday, Oct. 10, a Fountain Hills woman was cited for criminal damage after she reportedly slammed a chair into the glass door at a restaurant in the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Boulevard. She was released to family members.

*On Wednesday, Oct. 5, someone removed two exterior security cameras at the Fountain Hills Charter School in the 16000 block of Glenbrook Boulevard.

*On Thursday, Oct. 6, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone threw a rock through her bedroom window at her residence in the 13000 block of Hamilton Drive. She said she believes it was her ex-boyfriend who lives in Fort McDowell.

*On Saturday, Oct. 1, a California man flagged down a deputy and asked for a ride. The man was found to have an extraditable warrant out of California for burglary. He was booked into jail pending return to California.

*On Friday, Oct. 7, a woman reported someone attempted to open a PayPal and credit card accounts using her name.

*On Wednesday, Oct. 12, a woman reported that someone broke into her vehicle and took the contents of her purse. The vehicle was parked at McDowell Mountain Park while the woman was riding her bike. She returned to find the vehicle window smashed. The purse was still in the vehicle found under the seat.

*On Friday, Oct. 7, deputies received a report that a Fort McDowell man had allegedly assaulted the woman who is mother to his child. She said the two had a verbal argument that escalated to physical blows before he attempted to choke her. He left the scene prior to the arrival of deputies, who believe he returned to Fort McDowell.

*On Thursday, Oct. 13, a Fountain Hills man reported he had been informed that someone had cashed nine checks from his bank account totaling approximately $4,600. The man said he believes his son is responsible.

*On Saturday, Oct. 15, a Phoenix man reported the keys to his truck were taken by a Fountain Hills man while the vehicle was parked in the 15000 block of Calle Del Prado Fountain Hills.

*A Fountain Hills woman reported she has received several text messages from credit card companies reporting someone using her credit card at stores in the area. The woman told deputies three different credit cards were used at Target stores in the area of Scottsdale, where she had been when the messages started arriving. Her purse was in her vehicle at the time, but it did not appear to have been disturbed.

*On Tuesday, Oct. 11, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had punctured two tires of her vehicle parked in the 14000 block of Aguilar Drive.

*On Wednesday, Oct. 12, a Fountain Hills man reported he was “conned” into providing bank and personal information by an email saying his bank account had been “frozen” and he needed to provide the information. After providing the information he called the bank and was told there had been no problem. The man suffered no loss.

*On Friday, Oct. 14, a Fountain Hills resident reported there was a horse in his back yard in the 17000 block of Hawley Drive that may have been injured. When deputies arrived the horse was gone, but was located away from the house near Fort McDowell and it did appear injured. Fort McDowell and Arizona Game and Fish would not respond citing the horses in the area as feral. Deputies were attempting to contact someone with the Salt River Horse Foundation.
