Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies in Fountain Hills responded to a two-vehicle collision on Saguaro Boulevard at the intersection with Grande Boulevard on Monday, Sept. 19.
A woman making a left turn from Grande onto southbound Saguaro was struck by a vehicle traveling north on Saguaro.
The woman told the deputies she had waited for the green light before turning.
The driver of the northbound vehicle told deputies he looked down to his cell phone and, when he looked up again, the light had changed and he could not stop.
He was cited for driving with a suspended license and failure to control his speed to avoid a collision.
No one was injured.
*On Monday, Sept. 19, deputies received a report from a Verde Foothills man that someone had stolen four firearms from the garage of his residence in the 30000 block of N. 164th Street. There was a rifle and three handguns stolen.
*On Monday, Sept. 19, deputies cited a Fountain Hills man for driving with a suspended license near Fountain Hills Boulevard and Ironwood Drive. The man had failed to stop for a stop sign and was pulled over by deputies.
*On Monday, Sept. 19, deputies received a report of a backpack stolen from a vehicle parked in the 16000 block of Sunflower Drive. A computer tablet valued at $500 was reported stolen. The vehicle was not locked.
*On Monday, Sept. 19, a woman reported someone had struck her vehicle parked in the Safeway parking lot, and then they left the scene.
*On Tuesday, Sept. 20, a woman living in the 14000 block of Red Range Way reported she believed a man and woman from Phoenix had stolen items from a barn and casita on her property. The items taken were valued at $3,200. The woman does not wish to press charges, but asked for the report for her attorney and possible civil action.
*On Tuesday, Sept. 20, a Fountain Hills man was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Fountain Hills municipal court. The man walked into the Fountain Hills MCSO substation to turn himself in.
*On Monday, Sept. 19, a deputy on patrol located a vehicle parked in the Fountain Hills Middle School parking lot at about 9 p.m. The vehicle had previously been reported stolen.
*On Tuesday, Sept. 20, a man reported that someone had used his Social Security number at seven different employers between 2008 and 2015.
*On Wednesday, Sept. 21, a Fountain Hills woman reported her 2012 Mercedes stolen from the Walgreen’s parking lot in the 16000 block of Palisades Boulevard. She left the keys in the vehicle while she went into the store. A witness reported seeing the car leaving the parking lot as they drove in, but could only say a man was driving.
*On Wednesday, Sept. 21, a Scottsdale man was cited for criminal speed as he traveled west on Shea Boulevard just east of Fountain Hills Boulevard. He was reported traveling 83 miles per hour on a motorcycle where the speed limit is 50. He was also cited for no license in his possession, failure to provide proof of insurance and failure to carry his registration.
*On Thursday, Sept. 22, Sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant at a home in the 15000 block of Lomas Vista Drive in the Verde Foothills. Deputies received several complaints about a loud, piercing noise coming from the home. They were searching for the source of the noise and also found street barricades that the companies that own them say they had not rented to the man.
*On Monday, Sept. 19, a Fountain Hills woman reported her ex-boyfriend had been harassing her by coming to her residence and calling her employer trying to make trouble for her.
*On Wednesday, Sept. 21, an employee at the Lexington Hotel reported to deputies that someone had gone into a restricted area behind the counter in the lobby and removed personal items including a wallet. Deputies found bank cards and identification belonging to the woman in a trash can in the lobby.
*On Wednesday, Sept. 21, employees at the Verizon store on Shea Boulevard in Fountain Hills reported a man and a woman had stolen two iPhones and two cases with a total value of $1,700.
*On Thursday, Sept. 22, a Fountain Hills woman reported she was the victim of a scam when someone identifying themselves as IRS employees instructed her to purchase $2,000 in iTunes gift cards.
*On Friday, Sept. 23, deputies arrested a man and a woman who were sleeping in the hallway at the Lexington Hotel. They were charged with theft of services.
*On Sunday, Sept. 25, a Fountain Hills man reported the theft of a handgun valued at $480 from his vehicle.
