Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies received a report on Friday, July 8, that another woman, who is a Gilbert resident, had taken money from an elderly man the complainant was a caregiver for.

When deputies talked to the woman she admitted writing a check to herself from the 94-year-old man’s account and depositing it into a separate account at another bank.

The check was for $1,380.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies received a report on Friday, July 8, that another woman, who is a Gilbert resident, had taken money from an elderly man the complainant was a caregiver for.

When deputies talked to the woman she admitted writing a check to herself from the 94-year-old man’s account and depositing it into a separate account at another bank.

The check was for $1,380.

Deputies have forwarded the report to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office asking for charges for forgery.

*On Thursday, July 7, deputies received a report from a property owner in Fountain Hills that renters had caused considerable damage to their property before moving out. There were holes in walls and doors and a complaint about carpet damage.

*On Thursday, July 7, deputies stopped a vehicle and cited a Fountain Hills man for displaying an invalid license plate.

*On Thursday, July 7, deputies cited a Mesa woman in Fountain Hills for driving with an invalid license plate. The stop was near El Pueblo Boulevard and La Pasada Drive.

*On Friday, July 8, deputies responded along with firefighters to a reported fire in a condominium in the 17000 block of Calle Del Oro. There was damage to one of four units in a building. Fire officials believe the fire started on the patio area, but is not suspicious.

*On Saturday, July 9, two men were taken to the hospital after the tandem bicycle they were riding was struck by a vehicle on Rio Verde Drive near 154th Street.

*On Saturday, July 9, deputies investigated an accident involving three vehicles on Shea Boulevard at Saguaro Boulevard. A westbound vehicle was stopped waiting for the traffic light when it was struck from behind by a second westbound vehicle. The third vehicle was also damaged in the collision. There were no injuries.

*On Sunday, July 10, a Fountain Hills man reported the window of his vehicle was shattered while it was parked in the driveway of a residence in the 15000 block of Marathon Drive.

*On Sunday, July 10, a Fountain Hills man was stopped for speeding on Saguaro Boulevard near Gunsight Drive. The man was found to be driving with a suspended license and was arrested.

*On Monday, July 11, a Young, Ariz. man was stopped for criminal speed on Shea Boulevard near Fountain Hills Boulevard. He was reportedly traveling 79 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50.

*On Tuesday, July 12, a Fountain Hills man was stopped for a traffic violation near Saguaro Boulevard and Panorama Drive. He was cited for displaying a suspended license plate, no mandatory insurance and no driver license in his possession. Deputies removed and confiscated the license plate.

*On Wednesday, July 12, a Fountain Hills man reported someone had punctured a tire on his vehicle that was parked in the 16000 block of Alamosa Drive.

*On Wednesday, July 13, a vehicle struck a cement pillar and metal fence at a residence in the 15000 block of E. Lomas Verdes in Maricopa County. Property damage estimate is $1,000.

*On Wednesday, July 13, deputies received a report that two women had poured bleach on one another’s belongings over a civil dispute regarding rent.

*On Friday, July 15, a Fountain Hills man reported his brother had made an obscene and threating phone call to the cell phone belonging to the wife of the Fountain Hills man.

*On Sunday, July 17, a Scottsdale woman was arrested for DUI after stopping along Shea Boulevard near Fountain Hills Boulevard. Deputies witnessed the woman trying to trade places with a passenger in the vehicle. The woman was cited and released for DUI and making an unsafe lane change.

*On Thursday, July 14, a resident reported someone had used a rock to smash the window of a vehicle parked at an apartment complex in the 14000 block of Fountain Hills Boulevard overnight.

*On Wednesday, July 13, a Fountain Hills woman reported she was scammed by a man who called and told her he was with the IRS and told her she needed to pay $1,000 using iTunes cards. The woman was alerted to the possible scam by a store employee when she returned to purchase additional cards.

*On Tuesday, July 12, a Scottsdale woman was arrested for shoplifting items at the Target store in Fountain Hills. Store officials reported the merchandise is valued at $265.

*On Monday, July 11, a man reported that several tools were stolen from a construction site in the Goldfield area.
