Deputies were called to conduct a welfare check on a man who had not been seen in more than a week. The unresponsive individual was found lying in bed. No signs of trauma were evident, according to a police report.
A friend told police that the man was being treated by a doctor and it appears his death was natural.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the unattended death April 3 of a 64-year-old man in a Chickory Drive home.
Deputies were called to conduct a welfare check on a man who had not been seen in more than a week. The unresponsive individual was found lying in bed. No signs of trauma were evident, according to a police report.
A friend told police that the man was being treated by a doctor and it appears his death was natural.
*On April 1, deputies responded to a call about an unconscious 81-year-old man in the 16000 block of N. Saki Drive.
When deputies arrived, they found fire personnel performing CPR on the victim. No signs of trauma were visible. The visitor from Lake Stevens, WA, was transported to HonorHealth Shea where he was pronounced dead.
*On April 2, deputies received a report about a third degree burglary from a vehicle parked at a residence in the 1400 block of Marathon Drive. The convertible roof had been sliced open and a briefcase, notebook and sunglasses taken.
*A Eden Prairie, Montana woman was cited for unsafe lane change after she collided with a vehicle at Shea and Saguaro Boulevards. Her vehicle suffered damage to the front end and driver’s side quarter panel and hood.
*On March 30, a 20-year-old Fountain Hills man received a citation for operating a motor scooter on a suspended license. Deputies stopped him at the corner of La Montana and Parkview Avenue. The scooter was impounded.
*On March 28, deputies investigated a single motorcycle accident on Saguaro Boulevard near Kiwanis Drive. The 36-year-old driver told police that he was traveling northbound on Saguaro when he lost control and dropped the bike, ejecting him.
He was found lying in the bike lane and transported to HonorHealth Osborn with non-life-threatening injuries to his legs, arms and head.
*Deputies charged a 25-year-old Payson resident with possession of a narcotic drug, heroin, a class 4 felony. He was charged after a laboratory analysis of a substance found on him when deputies initially stopped him Nov. 11.
* On April 5, a 53-year-old female motorists was issued a traffic citation for driving 84 miles per hour in a 50 mph zone on Fountain Hills Boulevard near Kingstreet Boulevard, She has a future appearance in Fountain Hills Municipal Court to answer the charges.
*A Fountain Hills resident turned over to deputies an 1894 Marlin .44 magnum riffle that she found in her rental apartment on Clarendon Avenue in Phoenix. The rifle was apparently left behind by a previous tenant.
*On April 4, a 29-year-old woman was charged with criminal trespass and remaining unlawfully in the residence for a former boyfriend on Baca Drive. Deputies said the woman poured a bottle of alcohol on clothes and the living room floor.
*Deputies received a shoplifting report about an unknown suspect leaving the store with $130.67 worth of Lego merchandise without paying. When questioned at the checkout counter, the suspect said he paid for the item in the electronics department.
*A two-vehicle accident on April 5 at Panorama and Saguaro Boulevards resulted in a citation for one driver for failure to yield from a stop sign.
*On March 23, the owner of Comfort Inn reported a theft of services by a Tempe woman who used a fraudulent credit card to pay for $228.87 hotel fees.
*Deputies investigated a road rage incident between a 58-year-old driver and a 39-year-old Fountain Hills resident. The incident reportedly started on the Beeline Highway near Gilbert Road and ended at the complaint’s home on Via De Penasco. No charges were filed.
*On March 17, deputies stopped a vehicle at Palisades Boulevard and Hampstead Drive. Deputies had clocked the car traveling about 70 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone.
Occupants were two males, 18 and 17 years old, respectively. When officers stopped the car, they would smell a moderate odor of marijuana.
The driver was charged with criminal speeding and possession of marijuana. His case was submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
The 17-year-old occupant will be charged when he turns 18 years old in July.
