A small, single engine Piper aircraft went down in a wash on the Fort McDowell Yavapai Reservation Wednesday afternoon, March 2.
The plane with two people on board left Falcon Field in Mesa for a local flight when it experienced engine trouble.
The pilot was able to bring the plane down in a wide wash with a wing clipping a tree and the plane flipping to its top.
Those on the plane were evaluated by Fort McDowell Fire Department paramedics, but there were no reported injuries.
*On Monday, Feb. 15, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had stolen $1,600 in cash from her residence in the 14000 block of Kendall Drive.
*On Wednesday, Feb. 24, a female minor student at Fountain Hills High School was arrested for possession of marijuana on the school campus. Charges are being forwarded to the Juvenile County Attorney for review.
*On Saturday, Feb. 27, a Phoenix woman was cited and released after she was stopped for failing to have a legible license plate. She was cited for the plate violation, no current registration and improper tint.
*On Saturday, Feb. 27, deputies investigated a two-vehicle collision at Palisades Boulevard and Verde River Drive. A driver making a right turn from Verde River onto Palisades was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Palisades. The Verde River Driver was cited for failure to yield.
*On Saturday, Feb. 27, deputies responded to a reported fight between two men at a residence in the 13000 block of Hamilton Drive. There was minor damage to a door during the scuffle. Neither man was charged.
*On Monday, Feb. 29, an Eloy, Ariz. woman was cited and released after she was stopped for speeding on Saguaro Boulevard at Ledferd Drive. She was found to be driving with a suspended license. Citations also included failure to provide proof of financial responsibility.
*On Thursday, March 3, a Fountain Hills man reported someone had attempted to file a tax return using his identification.
