Sheriff’s deputies in Fountain Hills arrested a man in connection with a domestic violence assault call on Sunday, March 6.
A woman called for help and told deputies she and her husband had been arguing for a couple of days until he struck her in the head with a cooking pot.
The man told deputies the woman was suicidal and attempted an overdose of pills. She denied that.
Deputies arrested the man due to her story being consistent with injuries she was able to show she had sustained.
*On Monday, March 7, Sheriff’s deputies recovered a vehicle reported stolen out to Mesa Police. The vehicle was found in the 14000 block of Shea Boulevard after it had been disabled by a satellite monitoring system.
*On Monday, March 7, a Fountain Hills man reported seeing a dark Mercedes vehicle strike a pick-up truck in the Safeway parking lot at Palisades and Fountain Hills boulevards. The pick-up owner also left the scene without talking to deputies.
*On Wednesday, March 2, deputies received a report that a man had stolen a donation bin with approximately $150 from the service desk in the Safeway store. A suspect was captured on store video surveillance cameras and was identified by a store employee.
*On Tuesday, March 8, a 13-year-old Fountain Hills juvenile male reported to deputies that two unknown males, also believed to be juveniles, attempted to give the victim marijuana and alcohol at the Desert Vista skate park. Deputies had no evidence other than the boy’s word, and no proof that a crime had been committed.
*Deputies received a report from an Apache Junction man that a handgun was stolen from his vehicle parked in Fountain Hills the weekend of Feb. 26-28. The man had parked in the driveway of a friend’s house in the 16000 block of Heather Drive while they left town for the weekend. Nothing else was missing and there was no sign of forced entry into the vehicle.
*On Saturday, March 5, a woman was seen leaving the Walgreen’s store on Palisades Boulevard with a cart full of merchandise without paying for the items.
*On Wednesday, March 9, a Mesa woman was seen leaving the Fountain Hills Safeway store with items she had not paid for.
*On Friday, March 11, a Fountain Hills woman reported an unknown object struck and broke out the rear driver side window of her car while she was driving near Shea and Palisades boulevards.
*On Friday, March 11, a Scottsdale man was cited and released for criminal speed on Shea Boulevard near Fountain Hills Boulevard. The man was allegedly traveling 83 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50.
*On Friday, March 11, a Fountain Hills man reported the rear window of his pick-up had been broken out with an unknown object.
*On Sunday, March 13, a Fountain Hills man, age 26, was arrested after he was found in possession of marijuana. Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 17000 block of Via Del Oro. They found three people about a disabled vehicle including the suspect. Charges are pending lab analysis of the substance believed to be marijuana.
