Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies in Fountain Hills were called on to assist Fort McDowell Police on Wednesday, Feb. 17, with a report of a possible bomb.

An item that resembled a possible pipe bomb was found on reservation land near the Fountain Hills boundary.

MCSO deputies went door to door in the area along El Pueblo Boulevard notifying residents and telling them to stay inside.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies in Fountain Hills were called on to assist Fort McDowell Police on Wednesday, Feb. 17, with a report of a possible bomb.

An item that resembled a possible pipe bomb was found on reservation land near the Fountain Hills boundary.

MCSO deputies went door to door in the area along El Pueblo Boulevard notifying residents and telling them to stay inside.

It was determined the pipe was not a bomb and the all-clear was given to residents in the area.

*On Wednesday, Jan. 27, deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man in connection with outstanding warrants from the City of Mesa. Deputies responded to a report of a domestic violence argument between a woman and her boyfriend at a home in the 17000 block of Calle Del Oro. In checking on the boyfriend the outstanding arrest warrants were discovered. He was taken into custody and turned over to Mesa Police.

*On Monday, Jan. 25, a resident of the 11000 block of Cameron Court reported a handgun had been stolen from his home. The gun was taken sometime between October and December of 2015. The weapon is valued at $350.

*On Saturday, Feb. 6, deputies cited a Fountain Hills woman following a traffic stop on Palisades Boulevard. She was stopped for speeding and it was discovered she was not to be driving without an ignition interlock device. She was cited and released for both violations.

*On Monday, Feb. 8, a Phoenix woman was stopped for speeding on McDowell Mountain Road north of Fountain Hills. She was also cited for operating a vehicle with suspended license plates, no valid driver license and no proof of insurance.

*On Monday, Jan. 11, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for aggravated DUI, driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.

*On Tuesday, Feb. 9, management for the Clear Aire HOA reported the theft of landscape material from a common area in the 9800 block of N. Gorden Drive. Six barrel cacti were removed from the site. The violations include theft and defacing or damaging property.

*On Tuesday, Feb. 9, managers at the CVS pharmacy in the 16000 block of E. Palisades reported a female suspect left the store without paying for make-up products valued at $45.
