Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report that the Safeway store manager had been assaulted by a man outside the store on Monday, Dec. 21.
The suspect was an apparent accomplice to a shoplifter at the store on Monday, Dec. 21.
The store manager reported he saw a woman leaving the store with a cart full of merchandise and confronted her outside the store entry.
As he was talking to the woman a man got out of a nearby car and took a swing at the manger. The manger received a minor facial injury and his shirt was torn as a result of the assault.
The two suspects fled the scene in a silver colored Mercedes. One witness reported they believed the car had a Texas license plate.
*Between Dec. 18 and Jan. 4, someone did criminal damage on the Fountain Hills High School campus. The window of an office in the School District office building had been broken with apparent shots from a BB or pellet gun. Also, light lenses from the parking lot lights were found to be broken.
*On Monday, Jan. 4, a Fountain Hills man was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Deputies responded to a report of two men acting suspicious and discovered one had the warrant for his arrest.
*On Friday, Jan. 1, a Fountain Hills woman reported her daughter’s ex-boyfriend had called her cell phone and threatened her life.
*On Tuesday, Jan. 5, a woman was walking her dog along 136th Street near Rio Verde Drive early in the morning when she was struck by a hit and run driver. The woman managed to make her way home and it was later discovered that the dog did not survive the accident.
*On Tuesday, Jan. 5, a resident of the 16000 block of Paradox Drive reported someone had used fireworks to blow up their mailbox. This is the seventh time since summer this resident has been targeted by criminal damage.
*On Monday, Jan. 4, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the 13000 block of El Pueblo Boulevard and found a 2015 Ford Explorer that had been reported stolen. The vehicle is owned by Enterprise Rent-a-Car.
*On Sunday, Dec. 27, a man riding a bicycle north on the Palisades Boulevard frontage road was struck by a vehicle pulling from the El Lago Boulevard intersection. The bicyclist was taken to a Scottsdale hospital for treatment of injuries and released later in the day. The driver was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
*On Sunday, Jan. 3, a Scottsdale woman reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend at his Fountain Hills address in the 16000 block of Villas Drive. The two had been drinking and playing golf earlier and got into an argument while watching a football game. She reported being choked and pushed down by him, and denied any physical altercation. Deputies found no evidence to support her claim.
*On Monday, Jan. 4, a Fountain Hills woman reported that someone had used her Social Security number fraudulently.
*On Thursday, Jan. 7, a Tucson man was cited for criminal speeding as he was found traveling 80 miles per hour on Shea Boulevard where the speed limit is 50.
*On Wednesday, Jan. 6, a woman reported someone had stolen her wallet from her vehicle parked in the 17000 block of La Pasada Drive. Missing items include her two driver licenses, Social Security card, birth certificate, passport and bank card. There was no forced entry to the vehicle.
*On Thursday, Jan. 7, a Fountain Hills woman was arrested for extreme DUI after she was stopped near Mountainside and Tumbleweed drives. She was also found to be driving with a suspended license adding aggravating circumstances to the DUI.
*On Thursday, Jan. 7, a man reported someone used his identification to open a credit card account.
*On Friday, Jan. 8, a resident of the 12000 block of Mountainside Drive reported someone removed a portable fireplace from his courtyard area.
*On Tuesday, Dec. 29, deputies received a report of criminal damage graffiti on the wall of a Sanitary District pump station in the 17000 block of Kensington Place.
