A Payson man was arrested on drug related charges in Fountain Hills after Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at Shea and Saguaro boulevards.

The man was found sleeping in the vehicle parked outside businesses that were closed for Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26.

When contacted by deputies the man said he was getting some sleep before returning to Payson. He acknowledged the presence of narcotic drugs in the vehicle as well as a smoking pipe. He was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Payson man was arrested on drug related charges in Fountain Hills after Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at Shea and Saguaro boulevards.

The man was found sleeping in the vehicle parked outside businesses that were closed for Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26.

When contacted by deputies the man said he was getting some sleep before returning to Payson. He acknowledged the presence of narcotic drugs in the vehicle as well as a smoking pipe. He was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies also found two guns in the man’s vehicle and are asking the Maricopa County Attorney to review the case for possible charges of weapons misconduct for having the guns while under the influence of narcotics.

*Deputies are seeking charges for assault and disorderly conduct against two women who got into a fight with a couple at a Fountain Hills restaurant on Saturday, Nov. 14. The two women, a mother and daughter allegedly began arguing and shouting racial slurs at a couple in the restaurant, and reportedly slapped the man.

*On Saturday, Nov. 21, a Fountain Hills man reported a fraud attempt by someone wanting to purchase an elliptical machine on the internet. The suspect sent a check for more than six times the asking amount. When the seller called this to the man’s attention he told the seller to cash the check and return the extra money to him.

*On Sunday, Nov. 22, deputies received a report of criminal damage/tagging of public property. Someone had marked the street curb near Ashbrook and Bayfield drives.

*On Monday, Nov. 23, deputies responded to a report of four male subjects shoplifting video games at the Fountain Hills Target store. Of the four suspects involved two were taken into custody with one arrested and jailed for shoplifting, conspiracy and trespassing. The second was cited for shoplifting and released. The other two suspects were identified, but not immediately contacted.

*On Monday, Nov. 23, a Payson man was arrested for driving with a suspended license when he was stopped at Shea Boulevard and 136th Street. He was also cited for littering as he was seen dumping his ashtray onto the road.

*On Monday, Nov. 23, deputies received a report of a burglary at a residence in the 16000 block of Yaqui Court. An unknown suspect broke into the home and removed jewelry, lapel pins and wine from a wine cellar. The wine is valued at between $500 and $600.

*On Tuesday, Nov. 24, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had thrown a plastic bottle with motor oil into her swimming pool. The report was taken as criminal damage.

*On Wednesday, Nov. 25, deputies investigated a two-vehicle collision on Palisades Boulevard and Almount Drive. A driver reported pulling onto Palisades to make a left turn from a parking lot driveway when they were struck by a westbound vehicle. Both drivers said they never saw the other vehicle. The driver pulling from the drive was cited for not having a license or registration in their possession, and he was also cited for failure to yield.

*On Saturday, Nov. 21, a Fountain Hills resident reported several very old and irreplaceable stamps taken from his collection. They were estimated to have a value of between $70,000 and $100,000.

*On Wednesday, Nov. 25, a Fountain Hills woman reported that her ex-husband has sent her text messages and made threats in violation of a court order of protection.

*On Friday, Nov. 27, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a weapon during a drug offense. Deputies made the traffic stop near Shea Boulevard and Technology Drive in response to a report of a reckless driver.
