A Verde Foothills resident could face a citation for disorderly conduct unless he removes a large wind chime from his property, according to a report from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

The man does not want to remove the wind chime that he said was purchased from a renowned artist. An MCSO report describes the wind chime as between eight and 15-feet high with more than 40 chime tubes.

Deputies have been working with the owner and some of his neighbors since mid-summer trying to mediate a solution.

A Verde Foothills resident could face a citation for disorderly conduct unless he removes a large wind chime from his property, according to a report from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

The man does not want to remove the wind chime that he said was purchased from a renowned artist. An MCSO report describes the wind chime as between eight and 15-feet high with more than 40 chime tubes.

Deputies have been working with the owner and some of his neighbors since mid-summer trying to mediate a solution.

The owner told deputies he has added tips to the chimes in an attempt to muffle the sound, but deputies are still receiving complaints, the latest Wednesday, Nov. 4. The residence is in the 14000 block of Morning Vista Lane.

*On Monday, Nov. 2, deputies investigated a two-vehicle collision on Forest Road at Poco Rio in Rio Verde. A driver was making a left turn from Poco Rio onto Forest Road when she collided with a vehicle traveling east on Forest Road. She told deputies the sun was in her eyes and she did not see the other vehicle. One driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

*On Tuesday, Nov. 3, management at the Fountain Hills Bashas’ store reported a male suspect had removed a bottle of liquor from the store without paying. The liquor is valued at $21.

*On Wednesday, Nov. 4, deputies were called to a collision at Shea Boulevard and the Beeline Highway. The vehicles were eastbound on Shea waiting to make a left onto SR 87 when the rear-end collision occurred. No one was injured.

*On Monday, Nov. 2, deputies cited a Flagstaff man for excessive speed on Saguaro Boulevard at Ledferd Lane. Deputies reported he was exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 miles per hour. He was reportedly traveling 67 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35.

*On Wednesday, Nov. 4, a Colorado woman reported her brother missing after he left Fountain Hills on Oct. 2, heading for her home in Colorado, but had not arrived.

*On Thursday, Nov. 5, there was a minor rear-end collision at Palisades and Saguaro boulevards. One driver was stopped for a red light when they were struck by the second car.

*On Thursday, Nov. 5, a Mesa woman reported she was receiving threatening text messages from her ex-boyfriend in Fountain Hills. She also reported he struck her in the back during an argument at the time of their break-up. The man could face charges of domestic violence threats.

On Friday, Oct. 6, deputies investigated a two-vehicle rear-end collision on Shea Boulevard just west of State Route 87. The driver of the front vehicle told deputies she slowed to pick up something that had dropped. The driver of the rear vehicle said he did not realize she had slowed until the vehicles were about to collide. No one was injured.

*On Saturday, Nov. 7, a Phoenix man was cited for excessive speed traveling 78 miles per hour on Shea Boulevard near Fountain Hills Boulevard. The speed limit is 50.

*On Saturday, Nov. 7, a Fountain Hills woman was cited for shoplifting after allegedly taking several items from the Bashas’ store without paying.
