Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies received two reports from Fountain Hills residents on Thursday, Oct. 22, saying they had been contacted by a man identifying himself as a MCSO lieutenant clearing warrant cases.

The man told one woman she needed to pay $2,000 or he would activate the warrant for her arrest. She was told to pay with an online payment card that could be purchased at a grocery store or drug store.

In the second instance the man asked to talk with the woman’s husband who was not home, but she reported the incident thinking it did not sound right.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies received two reports from Fountain Hills residents on Thursday, Oct. 22, saying they had been contacted by a man identifying himself as a MCSO lieutenant clearing warrant cases.

The man told one woman she needed to pay $2,000 or he would activate the warrant for her arrest. She was told to pay with an online payment card that could be purchased at a grocery store or drug store.

In the second instance the man asked to talk with the woman’s husband who was not home, but she reported the incident thinking it did not sound right.

MCSO detectives are looking into the incidents.

*On Thursday, Oct. 22, deputies arrested a Fountain Hills woman for domestic violence disorderly conduct. She reportedly was yelling and cursing at her husband in the front yard of their home. The husband told deputies she had been drinking and had fallen on top of him when he arrived home. She had sprained her ankle and was bleeding, and gave paramedics a hard time while they were treating her. She told deputies to arrest her husband for hitting her. The woman was arrested for disorderly and taken to the hospital for her injured ankle.

*On Monday, Oct. 19, deputies investigated a vehicle accident at Saguaro Boulevard and La Montana Drive. It was a minor rear-end collision with no injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was cited.

*On Sunday, Oct. 18, deputies were called to the area of Pinto and Puma drives where an unoccupied vehicle had collided with a second parked car. A man had pulled one of the vehicles onto a sloping driveway and left without securing the brake. The vehicle rolled down the drive and across the street where it collided with the second car. No one was injured.

*On Thursday, Oct. 15, a motorist struck a fire hydrant while pulling from a parking space in a parking lot at Saguaro Boulevard and Amhurst Drive. The hydrant was secured by EPCOR Water. Damage is estimated at $2,000.

*On Tuesday, Oct. 13, a resident complained about barking dogs at a neighbor’s house. The owner of the dogs reported that the neighbor deliberately agitates the dogs and then complains when they bark. Deputies reported the dogs appeared to be under control and there was no action taken by law enforcement.

*On Tuesday, Oct. 20, a resident of the 17000 block of Calle Del Oro reported damage on his property to an iron gate, cabinet door in the carport and landscaping. Total damage is estimated at $600.

*On Tuesday, Oct. 20, a contractor working in the 16000 block of Stancrest Drive reported that a pool heat pump he was to install had been stolen from the site. It is valued at $2,500.

*On Wednesday, Oct. 21, a Fountain Hills woman reported an unknown person was using her Social Security number in Florida.

*On. Wednesday, Oct. 21, a Fountain Hills man reported someone had used his name and Social Security number to open a TV cable account in Ohio.

*On Wednesday, Oct. 21, a resident reported that someone had stolen the contents of a package delivered to her home on Sept. 22. Postal personnel reported the package was signed for, however, it is unclear whether the signature was obtained.

*On Thursday, Oct. 22, deputies were called to a head-on collision on Rio Verde Drive at 156th Street. The driver of a westbound pickup said the other driver ran into him while he was in his lane. The woman driving the second car would not talk to deputies. Both drivers were taken to HonorHealth Osborn hospital in Scottsdale.

*On Thursday, Oct. 22, a Fountain Hills man reported someone had stolen blank checks from his residence in the 12000 block of Chama Drive.

*On Thursday, Oct. 22, deputies received a report that four or five male subjects had taken merchandise at the Circle K at Saguaro and Shea and left without paying. The value of the merchandise is approximately $190.

*On Friday, Oct. 23, a Fountain Hills woman reported that her ex-boyfriend was contacting her via text message in violation of a court order of protection.
