A woman was arrested Friday, June 19, in connection with a strong arm robbery of a Fountain Hills woman in the parking lot of the Target shopping center.

Linda Marie Lugo, 30, was taken into custody for the robbery that occurred on May 23.

Lugo was identified with a surveillance video taken at the Target store. She is seen following the victim out of the store. Once in the parking lot she allegedly bumped the victim hard and removed the tote that was slung over the victim’s arm.

A woman was arrested Friday, June 19, in connection with a strong arm robbery of a Fountain Hills woman in the parking lot of the Target shopping center.

Linda Marie Lugo, 30, was taken into custody for the robbery that occurred on May 23.

Lugo was identified with a surveillance video taken at the Target store. She is seen following the victim out of the store. Once in the parking lot she allegedly bumped the victim hard and removed the tote that was slung over the victim’s arm.

The suspect got away in a vehicle driven by a third party.

After the suspect was identified detectives checked at last known address and talked with people who knew her. Lugo was found living out of her vehicle.

The victim told The Times she credits the high quality video from the store for allowing the suspect to be identified and eventually captured.

*On Thursday, June 11, a Phoenix woman reported she had struck a vehicle at the intersection of Shea Boulevard and Eagle Mountain and the other vehicle just drove off west on Shea. The woman said the vehicle was stopped at a green light and it was too late before she realized the other car was not moving.

*On Wednesday, June 17, a Fountain Hills man reported a trailer hitch was stolen from the rear of his pick-up while it was parked in the 14000 block of Springmont Drive.

*On Thursday, June 18, a Fountain Hills man reported a Phoenix woman working as his caregiver, had forged his name on a personal check and cashed in for $468. She was arrested for forgery and possession of a forgery device.

*On Friday, June 19, deputies were called after a vehicle found in a driveway near Hamilton and Cambria drives was driven through a neighbor’s yard causing damage to landscaping, before stopping in the driveway. The driver, believed to be a friend of the resident who owns the car, was not located.

*On Friday, June 19, a resident of the 16000 block of Paradox Drive reported someone had blown up his mailbox with fireworks. He reported this was the second time it happened. He did not report an incident on June 15, thinking it was an isolated prank. Deputies were provided suspect information and were trying to locate the person.

*On Sunday, June 21, a Fountain Hills man reported his vehicle had been stolen from a parking lot in the 16000 block of Parkview Ave. The man got a ride home from a bar at about 2 a.m. and when he returned the next day about 7 p.m. the car was gone.

*On Wednesday, June 24, a Fountain Hills woman reported she was assaulted by her husband at their place of business in the 13000 block of Saguaro Boulevard. Deputies reported the woman was intoxicated and there was no evidence she had been assaulted.

*On Tuesday, June 23, deputies were involved in a vehicle chase that led them along Palisades and Fountain Hills boulevards speeds up to 70 miles per-hour before they located the vehicle on a residential street. Deputies were responding to a report of someone attempting to pass a fraudulent prescription at the CVS pharmacy on Palisades. As deputies approached the scene they saw a vehicle speed off deliberately leaving behind a woman who was running after the vehicle. Deputies eased their pursuit after the chase reached 70 miles per hour going north on Fountain Hills Boulevard. A deputy did see the vehicle turn onto Oxford Drive and followed to where he located the car parked on the street with a door open on Fairlynn Drive. A man who claimed to be a passenger in the vehicle surrendered to deputies a short distance away. He was taken to a hospital complaining of shortness of breath. Deputies impounding the vehicle found numerous drug paraphernalia items as well as bank cards in the vehicle. A second person driving was not located. The incident apparently was unrelated to the possible fraudulent prescription report.

*On Saturday, June 20, a resident reported that someone had removed decorative items from a residence in the 16000 block of Glenbrook Boulevard.

*On Sunday, June 14, a Fountain Hills man reported jewelry stolen from his wife while she was at a senior care facility in Scottsdale. The estimated value of the jewelry is $35,000.

*On Tuesday, June 23, deputies received a report from a man who was out of town that someone had caused damage to his vehicle parked in the 14000 block of Olympic Way. Deputies found the vehicle spray painted and paint dumped over the engine and inside the vehicle. A neighbor alerted the owner to the incident who called deputies.

*On Wednesday, June 24, deputies were called to the parking lot at the Walgreen’s store for a reported fight in the parking lot. Deputies were unable to locate any incident, but were later called by people involved. A woman reported her ex-husband assaulted a man with her when they met to exchange custody of their children. The two got into a fight, but were unwilling to aid in prosecution.

*On Wednesday, June 24, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for reckless driving following a road-rage incident that traveled from Gunsight drive to the gas station at Fountain Hills and Palisades boulevards. The suspect was travelling at high speeds and nearly struck other vehicles. He also allegedly sprayed pepper spray the another man who had his 14-year-old daughter in the car with him. Once the man was in custody for a time he was remorseful and apologetic to deputies
