Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a vehicle driving into the Chase Bank office in the 16000 block of Avenue of the Fountains on Friday, July 10.
Deputies found that the driver, a 91-year-old woman, had driven over the parking curb, through the hand railing and struck the building breaking two panes of glass next to the entry door.
The woman told deputies she was pulling into the parking spot at the bank when she saw a child running through the parking lot and went to hit the brake but instead she pressed the accelerator, driving over the curb.

Deputies found that the driver, a 91-year-old woman, had driven over the parking curb, through the hand railing and struck the building breaking two panes of glass next to the entry door.
The woman told deputies she was pulling into the parking spot at the bank when she saw a child running through the parking lot and went to hit the brake but instead she pressed the accelerator, driving over the curb.
The woman was not injured.
*On Tuesday, July 7, deputies received a report about an alleged assault on a Phoenix man that began at an area golf course where the parties were employed. The victim said there was an argument and the suspect pushed him and then followed him as he drove off and struck him in the forehead with an open hand. The victim reported there were two suspects involved in the incident. Charges were pending an interview with the suspects in the incident.
*On Wednesday, July 1, a Fountain Hills man reported someone had stolen property from his residence in the 16000 block of Tombstone Drive. The victim told deputies he suspected his nephew who had stayed at the home. The property was valued at thousands of dollars.
*On Wednesday, July 1, deputies received a report of a woman being loud and profane as she was collecting her final check at a Fountain Hills restaurant.
*On Thursday, July 2, a Fountain Hills woman reported damage to her mailbox in the 14000 block of Galatea Drive.
*On Friday, July 3, deputies investigated an east-bound rear-end collision at Shea Boulevard and SR87. The accident involved a Phoenix woman and a Tempe man. The rear driver was cited for failure to control their vehicle and having no registration.
*On Friday, July 4, deputies investigated a reported domestic violence fight at a residence in the 13000 block of Granite Way. A man reported his wife had pushed him. They had been celebrating July 4th and had been drinking when her husband asked a friend of the wife to leave their home and that situation escalated into an argument with pushing.
* On Tuesday, June 30, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had fraudulently opened a credit card account in her name using her personal information.
*On Sunday, July 5, deputies received a report that someone had damaged their block and stucco mailbox stand at their residence in the 15000 block of Blackbird Drive.
*On Monday, July 6, a Fountain Hills man reported his 2006 Saab stolen after his roommate failed to return it. The case was pending an interview with the roommate.
*On Saturday, July 4, a Fountain Hills resident reported someone had broken into their vehicle parked in the 14000 block of El Pueblo Blvd. Nothing was apparently taken. The victim had been out of town for several weeks and left the car parked in the driveway.
*On Thursday, July 2, a Mesa man was contacted by a deputy related to a burglary nearby and it was discovered the man was driving with a suspended license. He was arrested, cited and released.
*On Tuesday, July 7, deputies received separate reports of vehicles being broken into, glove boxes opened, documents scattered, but nothing apparently taken. One incident was in the 14000 block of Oakwood Drive and the second was in the 14000 block of Kings Way.
