Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies following up on a report of suspicious activity of a man at a local fitness center arrested the man Tuesday, June 2, on vehicle related charges.

The parents of two teenage girls reported the suspicious activity and the man’s behavior related to their daughters at the fitness center.

During follow up on the report deputies discovered the man’s driver license had been suspended as was the registration for the vehicle he was driving.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies following up on a report of suspicious activity of a man at a local fitness center arrested the man Tuesday, June 2, on vehicle related charges.

The parents of two teenage girls reported the suspicious activity and the man’s behavior related to their daughters at the fitness center.

During follow up on the report deputies discovered the man’s driver license had been suspended as was the registration for the vehicle he was driving.

Deputies arrested the man for the suspended license and registration when he arrived at the fitness center. The owner of the center told the man at the time of his arrest that his membership was revoked and he was not to come back.

*A Fountain Hills resident contacted local authorities on June 2 when she discovered that her car had been damaged while she was out on a walk at Fountain Park. The complainant reported she had parked her car away from other vehicles, near the Splash Pad, and returned to find that the passenger side door had been keyed. She added that the same thing had also occurred the week prior.

*A Fountain Hills resident reported she was the victim of identity theft on June 2. According to the report, the woman’s purse had been stolen out of her vehicle on Monaco Dr. while she ran into her home to change for work. The initial incident happened on May 14. When asked why she had not reported the incident sooner, the complainant stated that she did not think it was a big deal at the time. Her driver’s license, credit cards and Social Security card were in the purse, but she promptly contacted her bank, the Social Security Administration and cancelled all of her cards. Weeks later, however, she discovered two new credit cards had been set up in her name, with a third card attempted and failed.

*On Wednesday, June 3, a Fountain Hills woman reported that her purse containing bank cards, keys and her driver license was stolen while she was undergoing therapy at a local chiropractor’s office. The purse was later recovered where it had been stashed in the office.

*On Thursday, June 4, a Scottsdale man was arrested for DUI after he drove his vehicle through construction barricades that had been knocked down during a storm and drove the vehicle onto a large dirt mound where he stopped. Deputies found the man at that location and determined his blood alcohol reading on an intoxylizer read in excess of .20. A passenger in the man’s vehicle said she did not realize he was impaired.

*Deputies are asking prosecutors for charges in an incident on Friday, June 5, in which a Fountain Hills man accidently discharged a firearm inside a residence in the 15000 block of Norte Vista. The discharge of the weapon damaged the fire sprinkler system in the home.

*On Saturday, June 6, deputies arrested a transient male for trespassing at a home in the 16000 block of Ashbrook Drive. The man told deputies he had nowhere else to go and wanted to get out of the rain. He kicked in the door to get into the house.

*On Saturday, June 6, deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man for assaulting his wife at their residence in the 12000 block of Fountain Hills Boulevard. The man allegedly grabbed the woman by the throat and struck her with an open hand. He faces charges of domestic violence assault causing reckless injury and domestic violence disorderly conduct/fighting.

*On Sunday, June 7, a Fountain Hills man was arrested during a traffic stop of driving with a suspended license and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for his arrest.
