The man was reportedly shouting and acting in a manner that concerned several people trying to enter or leave the grocery store.
Deputies arrived on the scene and made contact with the man and he was cooperative. He told deputies that he had taken medication and was drinking alcohol. With that information deputies called fire department paramedics for an evaluation.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a man disturbing the peace in the parking lot of a shopping center at La Montana and Palisades on Thursday, Oct. 16.
The man was reportedly shouting and acting in a manner that concerned several people trying to enter or leave the grocery store.
Deputies arrived on the scene and made contact with the man and he was cooperative. He told deputies that he had taken medication and was drinking alcohol. With that information deputies called fire department paramedics for an evaluation.
He refused treatment and was released to his wife with no citations.
*On Sunday, Oct. 12, deputies received a report of a two-vehicle collision at Saguaro and Fountain Hills boulevards. A vehicle making a left turn from a condo complex driveway collided with a vehicle making a left turn from Fountain Hills Boulevard into the complex.
*On Sunday, Oct. 12, deputies received a call from a man who reported he broke a window at the home of a friend he was attempting to check on. Deputies had previously been to the residence to check on the subject and determined no one was there.
*On Monday, Oct. 13, deputies cited a Fountain Hills man for excessive speed on McDowell Mountain Road. The man was reportedly traveling 70 miles per hour where the speed limit is 45.
*On Monday, Oct. 13, deputies cited a second man for criminal speed on McDowell Mountain Road. He was reportedly traveling 71 where the speed limit is 45 miles per hour.
*On Monday, Oct. 13, deputies were called to the 16000 block of Palisades Boulevard for a reported collision between two vehicles. One driver reported a vehicle in front of him backed into his car. The other driver said she was struck from behind by the other vehicle. A witness supported the woman’s version who said she was hit from behind.
*On Monday, Oct. 13, a man reported that someone had stolen a water pump from a trailer that was parked in the 16000 block of Laser Drive.
*On Tuesday, Oct. 14, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person in the parking lot of a plaza at El Lago and Saguaro boulevards. The man was reportedly shouting and yelling and using a gasoline can as an ash tray. Deputies contacted the man and requested that he be transported to the hospital from a psychiatric evaluation.
*On Tuesday, Oct. 14, deputies investigated a two-vehicle collision at Saguaro and Kingstree boulevards. A driver making a turn from Kingstree to northbound Saguaro was struck by a motorist traveling south on Saguaro.
*On Wednesday, Oct. 15, deputies received a report of a man lying in the street in the 12000 block of Mountainside Drive. The man had been drinking and gotten into an argument with his girlfriend. Deputies gave the man a ride to a hotel for the night.
*On Thursday, Oct. 16, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had charged $549 in merchandise to her credit card account without her permission.
*On Saturday, Oct. 18, deputies responded to a report of a fight in the 17000 block of Cascade Drive. Two men had been drinking and got into a verbal argument that escalated to a physical confrontation. Deputies gave one man a ride to a relative’s house in another part of town. No citations were issued.
*On Thursday, Oct. 16, a Fountain Hills woman reported the theft of an iPhone from her residence in the 14000 block of Calle Del Prado. She told deputies she believes the phone was taken by her daughter’s boyfriend. The phone has a value of $600.
*On Thursday, Oct. 16, a contractor working at a house in Fountain Hills reported someone had stolen tools valued at $966 from the secured job site in the 16000 block of Inca Drive. The property owner had arrived and found someone had entered the house.
